My girl is dying from top down

About two weeks ago, leaves on on plant began to turn yellow, mostly at the top of the plant. The yellow leaves are limp feeling and then they dry out and buds are drying out. They do not look like they are rotting, just drying out in a few days. The bottom looks healthy for now.

Should I cut off the top of the plant to save the rest?
Could this be a problem caused by not enough water?
I have read that in last weeks of flowering to keep the plants thirsty, maybe I overdid it.

It all looks rotted to me, id toss it all personally

My biggest confusion is why are the leaves that come from the bud going yellow and dying, starting at the top and slowly moving down the plant.

Check for borer holes on the stocks.

It looks like it has botrytis in places (brown rot)
Also looks like you could harvest what doesn’t have rot and isn’t dead. The plant looks finished, I can’t see any hairs on the flowers.
Looks like you’ve waited too long and upset her somehow. Save what you can.

Looks like alot of budrot. Stressing your plants by not watering them weakens them, and makes it easier for pathogens to take hold. Duno where you read to starve the plant of water but that's some ill advice. Cut back slightly on water volume sure. Totally drought it? No bueno.

That plant doesn't look close to finished. Needs weeks to dense up still. Might be a tough go with all that rot now though. Likely get worse day by day, especially if you haven't cut it out. Don't shake the plant when you're cutting the rot off. Carefully place a bag over top of the infected buds pinch it closed and cut underneath the pinch. Quickly discard it far away and wash your hands and tools well before touching anything else.

You have some sort of fungal pathogen affecting the stem of your plant which is blocking the uptake of water/nutrients. Look at the grey/brown areas all around where the branches meet the trunk of the plant. Could also be a borer insect but I think it is more likely stem canker/pythium/or fusarium.

Nothing much you can do but try to salvage what is not rotted.

The trunk of the plant looks but at a few branches there is discoloration - but those branches are not as sick as the ones that do not have the discoloration.

“ cut “ ? Or ripped it off.

A simple drizzle of life giving “ urine “ would have healed it.
