My grow room setup - Your opinion?

Hi, fellow growers and tokers,

This is my second grow. I have a total of 15 plants. 5 feminized White Ice and 10 regular Hindu Kush. I have 2 400W MH and 2 400W HPS, however only 3 lights are on at any one time since the heat build up is unacceptable. Temperature reaches 27.5 C with all 4 lights on and between 23.5 - 25.5 with only 3.

Since I'm in the vegging phase right now I have the 2 MH on and only 1 HPS on. As you can see I have an AC in the room and a fan on top of it. The AC hot air pipe goes all the way to one of the extract fans, the other extract fan has nothing blocking it.

When I leave my house from more than 24 hours, which is about 4 days out of the week every week I turn on the 4th HPS and turn the AC in my living room down to 22C and stick another fan just outside the grow room door to pump in some of that coo air to help the AC in the grow room. The temperature stays between 23C to 24C, so its all good.

I am in week 9 of vegging and am planing on vegging for another 3 weeks before budding. Does it look like its overcrowded in there? Are there may be any overcrowding in the near future?

Welcome to RIU. You seem to have a pretty good idea what you have. Nice setup. I look forward to seeing soem pics at harvest time

Thanks 40. Yes I read, read, and then read some more here in RUI before my first grow, and guess what? I had a perfect harvest my very first time around. Lesson to all newbs, please, please, please read before you start growing. All the answers to what you need to do have already been discussed.

Back to my point, I'm worried about overcrowding right now. I'm guessing between 3-5 on my regular kush's will turn male on me, so thats 3-5 less pots in the room. So I'm assuming a final count of 10-13 plants a couple of weeks after budding.

AAAHHHH!!!When I saw his setup and saw i was the first one to see it, I felt lucky. I felt strange feeling that "lucky" from another mans junk. I am his first poster in what is shortly to be a fire thread. Watch all these other tramps run in here and try to act cool now that they followed me in.

Thanks Korvette. Yeah like I said this is my second grow. First grow was 8 Arjan's Haze #1 and they all turned out beautifully. Didnt get sensis though since atleast one of them turned hermie and I didnt notice it. Found that out after finding seeds much later on. Great high though. Everything was easy after reading up on the posts. I guess I was lucky. I'm gonna keep 1 male kush to pollinate a white ice and then chuck it away.

Again, does anyone see an overcrowding situation here?

Question. Will it take longer to finish budding the longer I vegetate?

No, But you may have problems with light penetration later on, they look big now and a 400 only goes so far no matter how many you have.

ahh...thanks. However only the ices are big the kushes are relativity small. Gonna take more pics and vids now to give you guys a better picture of whats going on in there.

Yeah I already have problems with light penetration on the bottom half of the plants. The problem is the ices are really tall compared to the kushes so I have to keep the lights quite high up.

The plants dont seem to mind it right now, but Im sure the lower leaves will start dying during the budding phase.

I say we clone and sog in that area. You could produce many clones with plants those sizes. Maximize light and growing area. It would take care of the how big problem, and will produce much more. I would help as much as i ma possible

No, not really.
I watched the video, I think the problems you are going to have is with the heighth.
I think you let the unknown gendered plants should have been forced earlier to figure sex. THne put back into veg.
Figure that they are going to grow at least another third (conservative est.)of what they are now. I feel that some of them will be awfully tall at that point. And light penetration will be weak. Can you move your lights up and down at all?

If you can, i would top them, Or sog them(which I think is best). Need to figure out sex. I will think and let you know.
