Here's the heat sink after sanding. ( went over it again after this picture.).DSCF0064.JPG Now an aluminum piece 1/8" thick over fins and then fasten down fan.DSCF0068.JPG I then took it apart and drilled holes for power in heat sink cover and center of heat sinkDSCF0101.JPG DSCF0078.JPG DSCF0079.JPG Next I started the frame work. I put 3/4" square tube down on the heat sink flanges and drilled holes for bolts and mounted LED driver on one end ran some wires and mounted fan power adapter on other endDSCF0092.JPG

DSCF0095.JPG Here's how I reinforced hangers, they are made of 3/4 heavy duty aluminum angle metal. I ran them flush with the bottom of the square tube, I put one on each corner and put a bolt through it and then cut a small piece of aluminum angle and fit it to inside of angle and sitting on square tube and fastened with screws. It is quite sturdy now.DSCF0096.JPG It is ready to put in to the chassis now.DSCF0103.JPG DSCF0106.JPG It's a snug fit but that's OK. just need to drill and cut holes for power, lighted rocker on/off and the dimmer control.

I am proof that you can teach an old dog new tricks. I now have my CXA's working more efficient. I have been growing dirt for only 3 years (except some younger day's outdoor grows 30 some years ago) and have finally mixed my own soil mix and switched to cloth bags. Now I should see some better results because the girls are going to town. I can't believe how fast (big) they are growing now, maybe I will get my gram a watt finally. Pictures don't do justice but anywayDSCF0139.JPG here they are. A Lemon Kush and a kinda stretched out World of Seeds ? These are under 2 CXAs each @ 1400mA, The first is 3 weeks and the second is 1&1/2 weeks old. Couldn't have done it without this community, Gracias.:smile:

PD... pardon ...your fan blow?... sems to me suck air from heatsink... maybe im too stoned...

I do have a lot of fan's going, it is a good insulated room in my pole barn so no one hears anything.

I got a question about fans, to blow or suck through a heatsink? I know a lot of computers blow and some suck. I have mine all blowing on the heat sink and they seem to be running pretty cool to me. I looked around on the internet and blowing was the most as answers went. Does anyone know:confused: better?
