My New Grow Journal

Hey, you are probably wondering why I started a new thread for this. Well my last plant died at a very young age, it was burnt. I tried to recover it and it seemed to be doing better but i figured i would just start all over since it was so early into the project. I still listened to your advice and got a fan. New Grow = New Thread. So here we go!

Also comments, suggestions, and critisism are still welcome, and this is still a cheap set-up in my closet.

- Five bag seeds placed in water.
2/27
- Seeds begin to sprout.
- Four seeds placed in soil.
- Beginning of 24/0 light schedule.
2/28
- Two weakest seeds removed (due to a small set up).
- Remaining seeds growing small roots.

that first pic, with the paper towel looks like it has too much water, the seeds would pop a lot quicker the closer to damp/fairly dry it is, plus heat. nice setup tho, im looking forward to see what ya can get outta this, keep us updated

I have a few questions being that this is my first grow.
1) Is my container big enough for two plants or will i have to get another later?
2)I do not have any drainage, is it that important? If so does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix it?

drainage is key to solving a lot of problems, so yeah thats huge. maybe you could drill holes in the bottom of the container if you really want to use it, or you could just go down to the dollar store and get some small individual pots

your container will be large enough if you wanna grow 2 small plants...is it large enough? yes as far as under the soil, but above the soil will be the problem, Im too much of a worry wort and I wouldve planted in seperate containers, bcuz when they get older its gonna be hell trying to untangle the roots without damaging anything IF you have to transplant..

but i say get some small pots from the dollar store, or walmart or something..your plants will thank you for it later...

DUDE r u seriously gonna try and grow off of THAT light. Good luck, i would be suprised if they made it past a month, first off they r gonna stretch....second off there is no way in hell that that light puts out enought lumens for what you need, and third, GET THEM OUT OF THE COOLER, pinch a few bucks out of your arse and get a few pots to put them in, they are a weed man and they spread there roots like one, when ppl grow multiple plants in one container and then try to seperate them they usually end up killing there plants cause they have to tear the two plants roots apart. This setup is no good man, try again, all over from scratch in pots. what happens when they out grow that cooler.LOL o boy also if you r gonna try and frow under that light, your gonna need about 6 of them per plant, AT A BARE MINUMUM!!! And you will also have to deal with the heat they put off, so get a fan, also how you gonna maintain humidity? also since you are going the CHEAP route, get a few CFLs you will thank me later.

Dont beleive me, do a search on "stretching"

Yea drainage is gonna be an issue as stated b4, but I CAN NOT BELIEVE no one said anything to you about your lights. Check out my gallery, WAAY old but you will see my setup. These were from about a month ago, right after i transplanted them, since then they are 3 feet tall, and just went into flowering this past monday, out of the 8 i had in veg, 7 have sexed already...ALL FEMALE, what r the odds of that. LOL but see the flouresants i got in there? your gonna need a few of those if ou want to be remotely successfull, since you are going the cheap route. HOnestly though, have you thought this through? what about the stencth that will form, what nutes are you gonna give your girls? this isnt something to take lightly man, its an art and a science for some (ME)

Allmanbro has a few points there buddie. What kinda light is that? your on the right tracks, but get a better light mate, thats aint growing nothing. id imagine your plants would grow tall (searching for light) and skinny.

Take them out the cooler, like allmanbro says, youll kill/stunt/shock them when/if u seperate them. make sure u have holes in the bottom for drainage. But take em out of there. Youll save space with 3pots rather than one big clumsy useless cooler. Cooler would be fine for aqua/hydroponics.

Maybe the towel with seeds in, place the saucer in a plasticbag and fold the top over.

what kind of light are you using.

i feel like kicking my own ass for seeing that pic... even the most broke ass grower has some idea of what not to do... you showed them a picture.. Go get an extension cord and two cfl 27 watt daylight and two plug end screw adapters one fan and some 2 dolla pots at wallyworld.. soil and add water... wait till dry add water repeat...

my grow cost me 31 dollars.. but i had some shit laying around.. that includes the soil mg moisture control... no bashing from me just clean it up.. its like taking a bath you want to be clean and presentable and your plants want the same.. TLC>>>just TLC...
