On veg time, keep this in mind, the plants will double - triple there height during flowering, so be sure you have the room for it when considering your veg time.

400w MH or HPS? I don't know what you mean by planting the seeds too soon. Once the seeds crack in germination, you can put them straight into soil. That's what I do, never had a problem. I also wait til my plants are 18-24" before moving to 12/12, but as someone said, gauge this on the height you have to work with. My flowering room has a height of 9 feet. But you can put into flowering with as little as 10-12" maybe even less (I've never tried).

They don't look bad for day 25. Attached are some pix of my current grow at day 21, the difference really is that mine are a bit stretched. Yours are nice and squatty. I love it when plants look like that.

You're not doing too bad. Do you know the strain or are they bagseed? If this is your first grow, start a grow journal. People can help you along the way and you will have everything recorded for easier reference.

400w HPS and i did plant as soon as they cracked, I just wasnt sure... I have about 5' of height so I guess i should start 12-12 soon. Yes they are bagseed but I wanted to try them first before moving on to something better. Im starting a journal now, thanks alot!

Cool. You can probably move the HPS a little closer when they get bigger and stronger. You can gauge this by holding your hand by the top of the light. If the heat starts to burn your hand after a couple minutes, it's too close. I have a 250w MH in my veg room, but for my flowering plants, I'm able to keep the HPS about 8" from the plants. If your area only has 5' of height, estimate 1-2' for your light (depends on your setup) and 1' for space in between light and plants. That's 2-3' so you need to start 12/12 when your plants are about 7-10". It's more likely that they will only double in size (tripling in size is somewhat rare). But since you're growing bagseeds and don't know what to expect, it's better to be safe than sorry. If you flower when they're 7-10", the max they will grow is 21-30" which is within the 2-3' you have left over. Once you see how big they get after your first crop, you can better gauge how big to veg them before switching to 12/12. Veg them as long as you can, because obviously the bigger your plants gets, the bigger the buds it will produce. :joint:8)

ETA: my estimates are giving a lot of leeway. You can probably get away with growing your plants to 12-14" before flowering. But just play this first round safe and flower at 7-10"
