My plant is too big

If you just recently topped, it will take a day or two to recover and start vertical growth again.
 
That pot is far to big for plant size. Downsize to half gallon and wait for the roots to be pretty much busting out, then when you repot 1-2 gallon the roots fire out evereywhere. Wait, then same again into 5 gallon bucket. Ignore this advise at the size of your yield. Your roots are just as important as your leaves.

Why would you put a plant in a smaller pot? Why would you wait until roots are busting out? Restricting root space restricts growth. I do not understand or recommend your advice.

Ignore this.

Your plant looks good and I wouldn't worry about the fan leaves. It will be all good I suspect. And you definitely have an indica dominant on your hands, maybe pure (although not likely pure).
