Yeah bro picking them out of the bag would have me on the tip of my seat trying to figure out if it was male or female haha
Yea it has me nervous but see the weird thing is only one 5.5 gram bud had the seeds in it out of a zone and the guy I get it from he didnt find anymore or anyone tell him they found some seeds in it too? dont know if a male just pollentated that bud or what happend? but in that 5.5 gram bud i found 13 mature seeds and a couple white ones....and the high was pretty good for around here(I have some "trainwreck"and some "super silver haze" right now im smoking)

The plant is looking real good. If nobody else found seeds in their bags then maybe you got lucky with some nice accidental fem seeds due to a hermy? That'd be a lucky find! Thanks for the reps, right back at you.

When you go to build the new box be careful of using wood that has been stored outside or in a damp area for any length of time as it could be harboring bugs or mildew which could very quickly kill your plant. How would you plan on placing the lights and ventilation within the box? Keep in mind the spacing required for wires/sockets and such when making measurements on how things can fit. Also, what kind of a door or entry would you use?

Edit: I'll get back to you on the rep, gotta spread the love around first.

Here is a rough drawing im not an artist as u can tell. the door i will make it where when i close it the no light will come out. im going to put 4 2x4s on the inside of the door have them about an 1/8 of an inch from not letting it close so it will be a snugg fit. and make inner walls just like a house is made so no light will excape with the exhaust and intake fans. and have the lights on pulleys to make adjustments easy

oh and im not gonna use treated wood either(chemicals scare me) but im gonna go to lowes' indoor lumber yard or the local indoor one down the road and make sure its dry and no bugs thanks for that!!and im going to have a powerstrip with a timer on it for light and hopefully have enough room for the fans if not thats why we have two sockets in each outlet on walls but hopefull just one powerstrip

same thing w/ me gotta spred it around first

Design looks good, are you planning to put each hanging light on its own pulley or all of them connected to a board and that on a pulley? For making the walls like in a house do you mean that there will be an outer wall, then 2x4 frame then an inner wall? If this is what you meant then you could actually look into getting either insulation strips or spray insulation that you could put inside the frame and that would probably reduce any noise level significantly as well as helping with any last escaping light.

If you don't think you'll have enough space on the power strip you could get some three outlet adapters and use that to have all the fans going through one outlet and multiple lights going into a single timer. Depending on the dimensions you're going to be building this to, an axial fan like the whisper series may be more appropriate than a large case fan. They move a lot more air but are decently loud so you'd probably want a fan controller to turn the speed down to 60 or 80% to help quiet it.

I didn't use this on my cabinet because a very small amount of light escaping isn't a problem for me as none gets in during dark period, but I've heard that putting weather stripping around where your door fits in will help with light a lot if you don't get as tight of a seal as you wanted. Sorry for all the long posts and questions, I love building things and seeing how everybody can do things differently and still get amazing results.

no problem w/ long posts i like them!! gives me something to read! I think what i am going to do is get a bathroom light fixture to put on a board on pulleys. yes 2x4 frame inner wall and outer wall. Will deff go with the weather strip. thank u for bouncing ideas!! it is helping me alot!! the little thing u know.

Not sure how much those bathroom fixtures are but I found it easy to just use regular light sockets that you screw to the board. Extension cords with the female end cut off are easy enough to wire to the sockets and they are pretty sturdy. For my purposes I didn't feel any need to construct a reflector for the lights, but it could be done easily enough. If you think next time you'll be using purchased seeds it'd be worthwhile to look into how tall the strain you want will get and then you can choose a pot size appropriate for it and determine your dimensions and light setup from there.

For instance, in my cabinet I can fit 8 6" round pots under 5 sockets in an area 28"d x 16"w inside without feeling too cramped when trying to move things around. I've also used 2L soda bottles cut down slightly to give a wider mouth and drain holes at the bottom. Both are convenient for keeping plants small and going 12/12 from seed, using clones, vegging a small strain for a week or two, or using a small auto strain. Using Y-splitters, 10 small to medium sized CFLs fit on the fixture I use and with a mixture of 42w 2700k (6) and 27w 5000k (4) I'm happy with the results. The lay out I use is basically like this except the pots are all touching and directly under the lights:

O = 6" pot
X = (2) 42w 2700k
x = (2) 27w 5000k

O O O O
X x X x X
O O O O

Thanks KawiZZR, i think i might go with your light ratio just add more depending on how big i am going to the box and just dangle my too 68 watters as side light and what not. She is doing good sorry no up dates or pics i nute watered her today the soil is real dry and all the water just drains out the holes i have duct taped all the drainage holes nice and sealed up except 1?? Doesnt seem like she is growing much anymore?? thinking about throwing her into flower tomorrow cause after seeing how much some peoples plants actually do stretch it is kinda got me a lil nervous... What is your opinion on going into 12/12 6 days early?lol i know only sixwhole days.
Thanks will get pics on here after 11 when she wakes up

You may not want to plug the drain holes, if excess water can't be released then you could run into root rot problems from having standing water at the bottom of the pot. Not sure why you'd have a lot of run-off if the soil is very dry, you could look into submerging the pot in water to make sure the soil is set well and the water isn't simply running down channels in the soil? Read up on it first though as I have never tried this but it seems to work for some people. She looks really good so far, if you have any worries it'd be better to put her into flower a little bit early rather than waiting too long and facing the possibility of her overgrowing your space. It's really your call on the flowering, she'd probably do well if you started in the next day or two, but can't say for sure how much difference another couple days would make.

As far as copying the lighting setup I use, the reason it works for me is the plants I grow under it and how I switch the lights around. You can adapt the idea in many different ways to achieve appropriate lighting for however many plants you choose to grow, but you have to take into account that CFLs and small HID are fairly weak compared to high wattage HID lights so they work best with a flat canopy from SOG, SCROG, or LST. I gave two basic examples of how I would consider upgrading if growing only weed in a small space like what you have, sorry they are long and rambling.

If you want to expand your production next grow without stepping up the number of plants too much, it may be worthwhile to get a small HID light such as a 150 or 250w HPS and then using CFLs for side lighting. Using CFLs to start veg growth and then moving up to the HID with CFL side lights could do you well. In a 3'x2' area you could place a 250w HPS in the middle with CFLs on the sides and fit probably 4 medium or 6 small plants in there. The key with any small lighting system is being able to move your lights all around, not just vertically, to fit the dimensions of the plant(s).
Example:
start 8 plants in 6" pots under CFLs, top at 2 weeks old and flower the tops you took (about 2 weeks?). then pull any males and up pot the females to 10" pots. continue to veg the females to 6 weeks with LST/SCROG under either CFLs or HPS or both and then flower under both.

If you aren't looking to expand much, maybe just two plants next time (should probably use fem. seeds if choose that), you could get away with using CFLs only or maybe a couple of the very small HID lights mixed in and have great results. In a 2.25'x1.5' area a couple of 70w HPS bulbs with the CFLs you have and maybe a couple more could cover two small plants very well.
Example:
start two fem. seeds in 10" pots and use topping/LST/SCROG to achieve a flat canopy and flower at 4-6 weeks. this could be done with a 70w HPS over each pot, with basic light reflectors using appropriate sockets, and CFLs around the outside of the plants to get uniform light distribution and even growth.

I am pretty sure that I am not gonna have a problem with root rut!!, Soil is dry as hell top layer to at least two inches down..... So i am going to look into the submergeing thingy, because when i transplanted her the back of the fox farms bags said not to pack tight at all so im thinking it is jjuss going thro channels in the soil cause when i water the soil floats up then goes down farther than it orginally was.. so i know that is from not enough soil in the pot,or its all too dry...

Love long rambleing post!!! The reason i was thinking on the sun hut grow tent is because the guy i get my meds from, he has a 400wHPS and a 1000wMH/HPS and he said he would sale me the 1000 watt for 50$. and i know it works because it is in service as we speak.. But a 250HPS in the new room (when it gets finished) in the middle and have the cfls as side lights like u were saying. and i think i am going to got with square pots so i can get more out of my space. and i am going to do Afgan Kush Ryder fem next i beleive "21%THC" a dozen seeds for $157, 55 days seed to harvest.

ok she is on 12/12 now.. sorry if i have forgotten anything you said i am bout to have to go to my second job. Thanks for everything!! If u find anything dealing with the whole submerging thing would you please send me the link? Thank You KawiZZR!!!

Hmm, i know a 1000w for $50 sounds like an amazing deal but something about it seems off. Ask how old the ballast is and if it is magnetic/electronic. The magnetic ones will last a lot longer and although they aren't as efficient and a little louder I trust them more. You'd probably have to replace the bulb once you get it because of how quickly they degrade, but that isn't too expensive. The reflector is really going to make a difference in if this is worth it even with an old bulb and ballast. Good reflectors can be very pricy so if you find out what he has you could look it up online and that alone would very likely be worth the $50 used. And most reflectors can be used with different wattage bulbs/ballasts so you could save the ballast in case you ever want to use it and purchase separate components for a lower wattage to use with it if you wanted.

Square pots will help on space as long as your plants are kept within the boundaries of their pots, but I prefer to have a bush or two over several small trees so it makes no difference to me what shape the pots are. If you choose to go with a high wattage HID setup you won't have to worry about penetration to lower sites so that alleviates some stresses for you. As long as you can manage the heat from it that could be a very good way to go especially for this price.

Haven't looked into that strain at all before, I'm guessing it's a lowrider cross and autoflowers? If so autos do well in deeper pots where the tap root has more room before hitting the bottom. This could work to your advantage or disadvantage depending on how you want to do things. Where are you looking to get the seeds from? Might take a look at them myself.

It is magnetic. It is a cool tube hood, and he did tell me i would want to replace the bulbs, he bought it new in 05 it is kinda old.... I trust the guy, he lets me see his plants that his step son dont even know about so he trusts me more than him(but his stepson does has a big mouth and he live 45 mins away)he said i would want to buy a 400w to go with it...but thats because that how he runs it he runs 400w hps 1000w mh during veg then changes the 400 to mh aND the 1000 to hps during flowering. and it being 6 years old it may be getting tired.... but it would be a good starter if i did the grow tent. http://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=495 this is the link for the afgan kush ryder. it is an auto flower.

Thanks

I apologize for any spelling/grammer errors I'm kinda drunk at the moment. Depending on what kind of ballast it is you may need to buy a separate ballast to run a 400w bulb in it. the dimmable ballasts are nice because can run different lights but you gotta be really careful with them. its good that it is magnetic because they will last longer but id say to research the specific ballast online because I don't know of any that are magnetic and switchable/dimmable. even if you go for this light you can still do a homemade cab without the grow tent and just use an axial fan to exhaust, maybe two if using a cool tube and carbon filter. one for each, you know. and that is a sick looking plant, i still like Mi5 better, but that is personal preference at this point i feel like. any kind of auto should do you well, they are dependable and fairly resilient although yield may suffer significantly if you screw anything up big time along the way. i proof read stuff so should be readable but again I apologize haha. grow on man.

hehe no worries my friend!!! me as weel was D-RUNK as we call it round her. Mi5 huh? gotta check this out !! u smoked any of it or juss pics like me? I have never seen a magnetic ballest that u can switch either... but he does it so im not sure... if he is really suspose to or if he does it and got lucky that it works that way? Like i said before all i kow about growing is what he has told me (25+years) and what i have learned here. He did not believe you could get good buds from CFL's till I showed him Arch's plant! and he aint close to harvest!!

Sorry if I do not make sense at this time in the am!

Hey man, just wanted to stop by and show some stoney love. Your lil monster looks good man! I had a Chocolate Thai plant that did this same thing and she ended up givin me bout a half of some dense ass buds. Pretty damn resinous too! Only things I can suggest is: 1) Keep up the good work! 2) Possibly clip off some of the bigger/older fan leaves, this will allow more light to get to the inner nodes of your plant. 3) Keep an open mind, there are a lot of people on here who will tell you "this is wrong and that is wrong" but really it's what works for you, personal preference if you will.

Anyways man keep it up! Keep us on the up n up bout your text too!

Thanks jordo. I will just be happy if it turnsout to be a female! I was thinking of trimming some older leaves off but i was scared it might hurt/stress the plant but I did cut some that were yellowing from the tips back towards the main stem im pretty sure they werent getting enough light. It is starting to branch out kinda violently everywhere!!Fingers crossed for a female!!!
