My zucchini plants are a threat to my cannabis

Seems that my zucchini plants are infected with PM.
I sprayed them with hydrogen peroxide.
Time to go to Costco and buy a lot of H2O2 to spray my girls to kill any spores that might have landed on their lovely leaves.

This year has been tough on my garden. June/july rains killed all but one of my tomatoes.
Now with the dryer air and cooler temps my cukes have some pm going on..
So far so good with my other outdoor plants:leaf:

Simple high PH water applied once a week through the growing season usually is enough to control PM. Potassium Bicarbonate or sodium bicarb (baking soda) 1 tablespoon per gallon of water.

PM is plant specific if i remember. The strain infecting your squash isn't cross infecting the cannabis.

If you find that some of your plants or trees have powdery mildew, don’t worry. This fungus is host specific, meaning just because you find it on one plant species, does not make it a threat to other type plants in your landscape. Although there are many different species of powdery mildew, the symptoms all look about the same from one to another.

Interesting. I wasn't aware of this. Will have to look it up. Either way. It ended up killing my cucumbers and zucchini every year until I added silica to my beds, and planted them in a mix of quartz and other silica rich amendments that break down over longer periods of time. I'm amazed at how huge our cucumber plant is this year and still pumping out fruit. I've got over 15 jars of pickles already, making relish as well. First one opened up today....it didn't last 30mins. Lol. Yummy. Zucchini is still pumping too. Original plant since spring. No pm, and no cucumber beetles either. 2 problems I've always encountered before using silica.

Ya, been a tough season. I'm fighting rust right now. It's obliterating my cukes and I am get a fair amount on the lower parts of the tomatoes and cannabis.

I have read that Potassium Bicarbonate is better than Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda) at killing PM.

Recipe: Mix 1 tablespoon potassium bicarbonate and ½ teaspoon liquid soap (not detergent) in 1 gallon of water.

Another great powdery mildew product is Regalia. It's $50 a quart but a quart will last the average personal / small grower years. And it is certified organic.

I also use their Venerate for bugs, as well as silica, on all my plants.

I have been having good luck fighting the PM on my zucchinis with a 0.2EC solution of potassium silicate. The rusts seem a lot harder to fight, If I can't clear them up in a week I'm gonna try treating them with copper.

Yep, I had to look it up. I was freaked out because the last few years, almost all the maple trees in the land (maybe the whole state) turn white as christmas during the summers. Whole trees frosted with milder, on every leaf. I was worried it would contaminate my crops with the spores, but was re-assured that it won't. Also, learned that it doesn't hardly even bother the trees that are infected. This year doesn't appear to be bad at all, not yet anyway. The trees look good as ever.

Last few times I grew cukes I went hydro\coco and didn't use any supplemental silica. So basically none at all, unlike soil. They powdered up like crazy, but I still got a few out of the deal. I remember my best year with them was when I was still buying Si and using it, come to think of it.. and they didn't get bad until way later in the season when I ran out..

You spraying it on too?

Following. In Toronto also and PM is an annual struggle so would love to know if I have options locally. Regalia and the like are not available up here as best I can tell.

Potassium bicarbonate is better since it doesn't have the sodium.
