Need a Guys opinion +REP

OK so Friday is our 8th anniversary, My husband has had his F150 in and out of the shop for what seems to be forever, So I thought it would be nice to get him a new truck.
Needless to say I know nothing about trucks. or cars in general. I want to get him something brand new. I don't want to spend any more than $35,000
If your wife was going to get you a Truck what would it be? My only real restriction is he HATES Dodges. So please help me pick out a nice anniversary gift for him.

Thanks very much. I plan on going to purchase one tomorrow morning, so that I can pick it up before Friday. He will be out of town until Friday afternoon. And I want to be able to pick him up from the Airport with it and give him a nice suprise.

Im in love with the new Silverados! I got a new Equinox. My uncle got a Silverado, im veeerryy envious But it sounds like he is a Ford man The new extended F-150's is purrty as well. Lots of CHROME on both..

ya i would have to say go with the new fords they come with lots of nice toys and look pretty good. personally though id say a chevy silverado just because they are a lot less work. it seems like fords are always in the shop especially if its got a turbo.

I'de suggest bringing him to the dealership and having him pick one out. $35k is alot to make a mistake on if you choose the wrong one. I don't know your husband but some guys would prefer their old cars to a new one of the wrong type. We men can be a bit stupid about things like that.

Oh I also forgot to say no more fords, He constantly bitches about the one he has now.

My dad owns a silverado. It's a very nice truck, but if I were your husband I would probably want to pick out a truck myself.

It is the hardest thing for me to say. But most american trucks are not what they used to be. I am a dodge and chevy lover. But the direction they went was way wrong and bad for us the consumer's.
If I was buying a new truck I would Toyota or Nissan.
I bought myself the dodge I always wanted. They put a damn mitsubishi trans in it. 3 trans later and I hate the truck it only has 78,000 miles. My buddy's toyota has over 200,000 miles and drives beautifully. And still has power and is smooth.
Like I said I even hated typing it but it the truth.

In all seriousness though... if you're leaning towards chevy.. be careful he does'nt hate chevy. Most ford people are anti-chevy.. and vice versa.

Well I am not trading in his old truck so he will still have that if he hates the one I get him.

I'm not much for imports, but if I were to get a truck right now it would probably be a toyato tundra. They retail for 23-43k so you should find something nice. They look pretty bad-ass to me, also it has a nice 5.7l V8

Dont buy brand new. The amount it will depreaciate the seocnd it leaves the lot will be enough to make you shoot yourself. Save the money buy used and use that extra for a bad ass lift, tires, a cat back, maybe a truck box and a thumpin stereo. Thats my opinion

*^^ problem is, if he is a Ford owner. He prolly wants American. Tundra may be made here, but in principle, 'its a foreign jobby'. Imo

I know that if my wife picked up a new ride for me and suprised me with it I would be very happy and give her lots of smooches and tell her how wonderful she is and how lucky I am to have her. But an hour or so later I'd be thinking " man, I wish I could have been the one to pick out the color, options, trim package etc.. and the more I drove it the more it would eat at me. By the way, we celebrated our 20th a few months ago so I have some experience as a married man.

My two cents though would be the biggist Toyota Tundra with all the options and upgrades I could find. A suprise like that would have to blow me away and anything less I would feel like I should've been the one to pick it out.
