I have a 4x4x6.5 growtent with six in. Air cooled 1000 watt hps, also have 190 cfm blower fan and carbon filter. My fan is 4 in. But my light is six. How do set up this system. Do I go filter= to light = then to fan then outtake? Or should put the filter to fan to light then out. If anybody has pics of their similar set up I would be appreciative. Thanks. And can I get reducers at lowes that would work?

Your lights prob to powerfull for that tent. I have 400 watt hps in a my 1m/1m/2m and would prob not put more than 600 in

Did light you buy light seperate?

you should probably get a larger fan if you want to run a 1000 unless its in an a/c part of the house
my 5x5 with a 600watt with a 6" 450cfm no carbon filter was getting to 87 when i had lights on during the day
so i d guess you would be in the 90s

I dont think it matters if your fan is before or after the light, but I would make sure the filter is before the light to reduce dust buildup in the reflector. And yes they sell pvc 6" to 4" adapters at lowes.

thanks for the reply bro. The 600 and 1000 were the same price. So fuck it bought the bigget one. But I still have my 400 watt just incase. Would it matter if I kept the fan and filter on the outside of the tent? I gotta do something.

If it were me, i would put the fan as close as you can to the bulb. the further away the fan(less suction) and the closer the fan(more suction). I would also put the filter on light side of the fan as well. Just play around with it to better suit your needs, it won't hurt. What's the ambient temperature outside of the tent or do you have an A/C unit?

since you got a 4" fan cooling a 1k watt... hang filter from ceiling and attach your carbon filter to input side of light flange using 6" ducting, or directly fix to light flange. (you may have to buy 6" flange for filter. also buy a 4"-6"duct converter from the hardware store of your choice.) Attach 4"-6" converter to output side of light flange. attach your fan to the 4"-6" conversion piece. attach 4" ducting to fan and send clear out of tent and preferably outside of room. keep your ambient room temps anywhere from 70f-75f. and you will have tent temps of 78f-82f. trust me, you will be pumped on your thousand watt in that tent! good luck

I wouldn't attach my fan directly to the light, wouldn't that make the light sit unevenly due to the weight of the fan. And yes keep it on the outside of your tent so you have more room for buds. I've always seen the fan attached directly to the filter blowing into the light and exhausting out, but I don't know if it actually matters. But yeah it's true keep the fan as close to the light as possible. I actually don't use a filter because I like the smell of chronic when I come home lol

you got to sit it right. i use a pully system and have no balance issues- just great temps and big pulls buddy. i say use the fan to pull air out instead of push air, only because it is a 4" fan cooling a thousand watt bulb with a 6" flange on the housing. ideally if the fan was powerful enough you would push air with the fan connected to filter. but because the 4" fan will lose force blowing into the larger 6" flange and hood, in this case the fan is better suited to suck air out. it doesn't matter whether the fan is inside or outside of the tent in this case.

well you have 16 feet of floor space, 600 watts would be 37.5 per foot squared, and 1000 is 62.5...when i chose for my tent i thought 1000 watt would be best because they say you want like 50 to 75 watts per foot...it's really not that hard to cool, but it's a 6.5 foot tent, keep the filter inside the tent, hanging from the roof, your buds should never get that close to the roof anyways@! your gonna love the light+tent combo trust me!

Use two different blowers. A six that is always on with the light , drawing air in from outside the tent, and exhausting out the other side after passing through the light. The 4" blower can be attached to the filter , mounted inside the tent, exhausting out of the tent with its own 4" ducting. The dual blowers are a better way to go when you later decide to add CO2, the fan for the light will not be affected when releasing CO2, you need only turn off the filter fan for the cycle.

I know im gonna love it bro, I said fuck the 1000 watt light, im goin to use my 400 hps that i have and try to grow 6 plants under it. Yeah im goin to hang the carbon filter and fan at top right corner. Hopefully 2 90 cfm inline fans at the bottom will be adiquet for intake. I bought a 400 cfm blower fan just to be safe. My 400 watter isnt air cooled so i'll see how warm it gets. My temps already get up to about80 -84 and they seem to love it so we'll see. And do ever put your rooted clones directly in to flower? I think I might try to do sea of green. never did it before i just wont top the ladies. Thanks for the input bro

Thanks guys for the replies, but my light hoods are mot air cooled. S ocan I just have a "y" with the two ends sucking air as close to the lamps as possible/ then threw filter and on out through the fan outside the tent? Or better yet how do i vent the hot air from my non cooled hoods?

you want to suck air from the top of the tent I have a cheap bathroom extractor (36 cfm) with a pipe out near the window keeps my 400w hps in a 1m/1m/2m tent around 75f
