. Yay. Anyays so your problem is your computers processor is processing more when you open big applications all at once. I'm sorry but this sounds pretty logical too me. 2.8 GHz single core? Compared to the quads and 8 cores running at the same clock speed as your single core your processor isn't great but I guess it should be suffisient. Man reformat or better yet get Linux (Ubuntu).
