would it work if i grew with a 5x5x7 ft tent, (2) 250 watt hps in a single air cooled reflector, 465 cfm blower pulling air out of the tent but from 2 places being the light and the tent environment by using a Y adapter in the ducting?

how many plants should i be able to grow without scrog?

thanks, any help is appreciated

Personally a 600 or 1000 watter would be perfect for that space...

that fan could easily keep the temps perfect for that size space too...

you can grow quite a few plants in that tent... i would go with 5-gallon buckets, ya they take up a lot of room, but you get the biggest yield

Sorry just saw that you said above W/O SCROGING...

So SOG...

Ok but what is your system,
ebb and flow table, DWC, SOIL...

well 5 gallon buckets are a foot wide, so theoretically you could fit 25 max, but you are gonna find some problems with the edge ones not getting a whole lotta light..

I would say 16 ina 4X4 config and you are gonna grow great plants....

400 watt light will cover about 4x4
600 watt a 6.5x6.5 space
1000 watt 8x8

This may not be exact but aproximately.

I currently have a 4x4 with a 600 watt I am having troubles keeping heat down with a window hlaf way open but i ordered new fans and will see what they will do. My lights are not air cooled.

Stick to this rule it is much better than the above..

50 watts of HID lighting per sq ft...

so

400 good for 8 sq ft
600 good for 12 sq ft
1000 good for 20 sq ft.

You can stretch this rule just a little and still get great results...

so for your 5X5 Tent I would stick in 16 5 gallon buckets in a 4X4 config..

thats 4 feet by 4 feet of DWC system equaling a total of 16 sq ft,
you could use a 600 watter and do OK....

To me it seems the above post was taken off one of those E-bay auctions advertising thier 1000 watters can light 100 sq ft! hahahah

Nah my post was taken out of National Garden Wholesale retail catolog

I would do 600 watts for a 5x5 area and using one fan with a y adapter may work try it if it doesnt get another one. There are people using 400 watts on a 4x4 space and getting great results. Look in grow journals and look at peoples setups.

well I,M ridin 2000watts in a aircooled cooltube and i grow vertical ,the key is extraction, a lot of times i see people trying to grow with as little light as possible for heat reasons, but seriously, this is weed growing, light is our friend I have a 4 fan system on my box its 4x4x7high i will have 144 plants in it by tonite or tomorrow, and i,ll tell ya if I could find a way to add more light i would..... my temps is never above 25 degrees in there , ventilation extraction is the key not light reduction, and anyway our babies thank us in yield size so what we neglect to gie them now we will pay for in the end,,, and of course all this with all due respect to everyone's opinion, i just figure if you are going to grow, then go all out for the return. and for the quality of smoke . all major factors of grow enviroment.

a humble opinion

peace
