Been noticed brown patches on my 2 week old plant recently and now the 2st 2 fan leaves that sprouted and looking very brown and unhealthy.I had been told previously it may be due to nute burn but dismissed it as i was using organic compost.Having read the back of the compost properly i have found it does contain nutrients and has been the cause of the browning.

I've checked on a number of posts to see where i could find some some foxfarm sunshine mix etc,but none are available in the stores i the UK.Is there an alternative soil that is available in the the UK that i would be able to buy as i don't know if my girl can take it much longer.

SLB,

I totally hear you on the light deprivation. I added more bulbs the day that picture and post went up. They are exploding with new growth and leaves popping out of virtually every fan leaf node. I will post more pix in a few days. I'll totally do the weather stripping on the door today too.

So if I don't take them out of the MG Organic soil, and they have been in their 3 gallon pots now for 2 weeks with a fresh batch of MG+sand (50%/50%) can I just start feeding them nutes? I'm afraid of hurting them by disrupting the current root system. What nutes do you recommend?

I really appreciate the help. Yesterday I went into the only hydro shop with nutes and gear and after the sales person asked me how he can help me and asked what I was growing, he kicked me out of the store because they don't condone any illegal activities yet half the product they carried was branded with cannabis leaves. I can't wait to leave this God forsaken state next year and go back to Portland where this is all VERY legal.
I'd wait at least one more week before you start giving them any supplementary nutrients...
As for recommended nutes, maybe AN,FF, or even botanicare...

Sorry to hear about the asshole at the hydro shop!

hey SLB and anyone else who wants to throw in their 2 cents im on week 3 of vegging under t5s and i wanted to try a technique to increase my yield i got 4 plants growin right now and i cant post a pic yet cause i have to pick up a chord for my camera but would you recommended topping or fiming or lst? fimming doesnt seem too hard but lst looks a bit more challenging as to how much you actually break the stem.
also the guy at the hydro store recommended trimming the bottom third of my plant off of the main stem to give more energy to the top, would you recommended this?
Topping or LST'ing are much easier to do than Fimming, so I'd do either of those or maybe even both...
I'm not much of a fan of lollipopping, which is what the hydo guy recommended, so I would have to say no to that...

:wall: I was wondering about adding H2O2 to my hydrofarm, which I will be using soon! I have been researching this, not just here, I googled it, too. I guess what I want clarified is this...Can I or can't I use peroxide from my local CVS? I have read to use only food grade from some sites and that I can just buy some at the drugs stores on other. What is your opinion on this issue?
In my experience you can use H202 from the drug store, but it's concentration is significantly lower than others...
Your average drug store H202, is at 3% concentration, I believe...while others go up to 35% concentration
So with a higher concentration, you would require a smaller amount of the solution...

I may have to see some pics to verify if you do in fact have a case of nute burn...
Not too sure about what is, or is not available in the uk, but mixing your own soil would be your best bet

Well, it mostly depends on genetics, but unless you have a means of testing THC content, potency is a matter of personal preference and there are too many variables for me to answer this question...

It's hard to tell from the pic, cuz of the quality, but it could be slight nute burn, or it may be a pH problem...any way of measuring the pH of your water?

Ok, I really need help getting my babies into seedlings. I have no idea what I am doing wrong. What I do is get distilled water, Ph it, then get rock wool cubes and soak them in it for awhile until its nice and saturated then i just put the seed in. I have it in a little tote box that I made. It has space on the top for 4 bulbs but for now I have 2 CFLs (1 daylight 60w and 1 40w reveal) and a small 4in fan at top with intake tube on side. Every time I tried before hand has not been so good. What am i doing wrong?

I have to drive almost 50 miles to the next store. Do you know if any of those you recommended are organic? Also what do you think of the Alaskan Fish organic stuff I've seen at Home Depot? My brother says it's great for a lot of vegetables. He works at Lowes and they carry it too. I'd like to see how much I could grow if I went organic? I hope I get at least one girl and close to an ounce... How much longer do you guess I'd be vegging for? I need to buy a timer too. Waking up at 5 am to kick on the lights sucks lol.

Well, that again is a matter of genetics, because different strains prefer different amounts of nutrients.
I don't know much about Blue Dream, so I wouldn't be able to specify on the amounts it prefers...

How long do you soak the rockwool?
I believe most are meant to be soaked for at least 12 hours...how often do you water the cubes after they're placed in the tote?

I believe they all have an organic line(i.e. AN Iguana Juice, FF Grow Big, etc.)
I'm not too fond of the fish fertilizer, I get better results with synthetics, and quite frankly, the stuff stinks!!! lol
You can get an ounce or more with organics, but I'd veg for at least 4 weeks...

Since this is my first grow and I'm completely at a loss on the whole nutrient process, how much and how often do I give my ladies nutes? I know you've said to start at 1/4 the recommended dosage then up it every time I feed them in 1/4 increments. Do I feed the same nutrients during flowering or do they have to be switched to something with a different NPK? When do I stop feeding all together? Also when do I flush? Just two weeks prior to harvest?

Sorry for so many questions, and I know you've covered this a few times in previous parts of this thread but I'm baked and just woke up to turn the lights on for the day... did I mention I need a timer? LOL
