Need help fighting bugs

ever since i started this plant it has been ate at here and there and i just kind of ignored it. it didn't really seem to pose any threat. now i am seeing it a little more. i found a grasshopper in the middle of the plant. what should i do?

If you're growing outdoors, spraying is a must. Even spraying won't stop them completely, but hopefully they will get big enough that minor bug damage won't be a problem. I'm using Ortho Ecosense 3 in 1 rose formula from wal mart. It was only $5 and seems to be working well. I'm sure you can find better stuff, but that was the only option I had at the moment.

Whatever you choose, don't go to crazy with it at first and don't apply it in direct sunlight.
