Ignorant?
So, you've decided to bypass friendly discussion, and move into
? Nice !
"Blues Album charts" ? R&B Album charts?
Porter Wagoner charted dozens of top ten hits - "Country" charts.
Chick Corea's "jazz" recordings routinely charted top ten in his 'genre' [ key word - make a note]
Can you name any Jenni Rivera 'hits'? She was voted top artist of 2013 in her 'genre'.
Mandisa and Tasha Cobb had #1 hits in their genre - I'll bet you don't know what they are - am I right?
Porter also got a "Lifetime Achievement award.....
Name some of his #1 hits, por favor?
Where do you suppose "Riding w/ the King" would have charted w/o "Eric Clapton" being splashed all over the album cover, and in the vinyl grooves?
[Lemme help you out - likely about where all the ones before and after charted
]
You wanna proclaim King a legend in his genre w/ a multi-decade career and a bunch of fans, that's fine, and I don't disagree. But in that regard, he's little different than the artists I listed above.
But he had 1 - that's o-n-e - hit record that played somewhere besides the 'R&B' or 'Blues' charts.
But I'm 'ignorant' because your BB KING fan toes were stepped on - that's your problem.
I used to be a huge fan and follower of Faith No More, who had ONE smash hit. Even though they sporadically charted the rest of their recording career, they in fact 'won' awards. But you only know their 'hit', if you know that. And nothing else....unless, like me, you are or were a fan.
You probably see the significance of the comparison...you being so 'intelligent' and all.
If not, no worries. It changes nothing, including the validity of my original comment. Have a sweet day!
