Hey guys i have a seedling that i have been looking after for about 2 weeks now it is 2 inches tall and it is in the begining stages of the first set of 3 leaves starting to come out. I noticed this morning it was hunched over not sure if this is normal i haven't started from seed before and could use a little guidiance to make sure this thing will reach full potential. I have it in a i inch rockwool right now in a humidity dome with a seedling germination blanket underneath it i also have a one cfl couple inches above it for some light till she can take the 400. i spray the cube to keep it moist not soaking and keep humidity in the dome. Should i keep it in the dome for now or should i be taking it out of their i have airconditioning in my house so it sits at around 23 degree's. If anyone has some advice or can tell me if im going about this the right way that would be great thanks guys

I took my germed seeds out of the dome once they all sprouted. You should let the surface of your RW plug get dry before you water again. Your roots need time so search for water. They can't do that if the cube is always moist. It's probably drooping because it's overwatered. Throw them under the 400, at least 3-4 feet away. I would ditch the heat pad too unless it's really cold in your grow space.

you think it will be fine under the cfl for a week or 2 i am just nearing the end of my harvest so im using the hps bulb. I just dont want them to stretch out. I do have a 250 watt with a mh bulb but no where i can really put that to get it going.

I thought your plants were only a couple of weeks old and you're nearing the end of your harvest? Please clarify because I don't understand what you just wrote.

Think he means he's using the HPS in another room for his other harvest. bongsmilie

Ya i already have a bunch nearing their end in 2 weeks right now im just flushing them. I have a seedling that i started and its 2 inches tall developing its first 3 leafs just tiny leafs but their coming out. What i was saying was i have 2 weeks left in the room where the seedling will be, i will raise to be my mother. But the lights are hps in their now so what i was wondering do you guys think it will be fine under one cfl for like another week or two then under my 400 mh.

Should be ok, I keep my mother under a T5 all the time so she wont grow too fast. Just keep the light close to her. bongsmilie

Is it normal for the seedling to lay down? i have had a fan on it since it broke the surface. The cotelydns ( not sure if its spelled that right?) are starting to turn brown now i guess that means that all the stored food is being used from them as they start photosynthesis.

No it's a bad sign if it's laying down or drooping. You have a fan on it to where it's moving the little guy a little? That usually does the trick to make it grow a strong stem but maybe you have some other issue. Too much ferts? Not enough light? Ph of the cube or water?

What wattage is that cfl some as as low as 8, 10, 13, too low to be of use. A 42w (120w equivalent) is a good start and enough to pull through 2 weeks of veg, that's what I have on mine until my halides are freed up.

fuck another one gone same thing! laying down in the morning kinda curled. i dont know what im doing wrong man this is hard starting from seed! I just want at least one to develop. Maybe im over watering im not sure. when you ph soak your rockwool and flick the excess water off do you not water until the seedling breaks the surface? i think i am overwatering it. I can get them to germ and get to the beginning development of the first leafs but after that they die on me! my first one i kept in the dome for a while and its leaves were bigger than this ones before it died. Just not sure what i'm doing wrong? Could be the light though never thought of that i just looked and its a 15 watt i think im gonna through it right under my mh 250 for the next. I have been watering using a spray bottle and only when they are right dry. i pulled the stem outta the rw and their wasnt much of a root to it at all although it was only about 5 days old. Should i try putting a little cloning hormones in the rw soak next time?
