Just an idea but, if you have a brand and model number, perhaps a serial number too (to ascertain vintage) you may get some info from

a) the manufacturer, may be online electrical schematic etc.

b) people familiar with that product, using one now even, who would lift their cover off and send you a photo of how it's wired.

Good luck.

Is there a wiring diagram on the ballast housing? The Diagram below solves your problem. I don't know your specific circuit etc so im not going to draw arrows on your original post for safety reasons. If you don't feel comfortable working off the diagram below PLEASE take it to an electronic shop along with this diagram (They may not charge you at all it will certainly be $20 or less). Not worth a fire or electrocution.

EDIT: Or as @Rob Roy said if someone has that model you could ask them for a picture of the guts and work off that.

Thick wht wire goes under the N screw with the ignititor and the long wire from the cap. The Other wire from the bulb socket will go to power from the traformer. Probably L1.

Or the thin wire from the bulbsocket on the other side on l3? And the one electricity wire in l3 but the other one should go l1 or l2 but theres nothing on the opposit side to catch that wire
