So the first 5 weeks everything was fine until I transplanted and noticed a few of the roots had no root hairs and from experience I know that means I've got some fungus gnats eating at them. The day after I started seeing the little fu"kers flying around. I used some DE and some neem that hasn't worked yet. I have 4, 3 gal pots in a small tent with the exhaust leading into the attick. I dont have a filter on it and I dont really have alot of money so I'm looking for a cheap way to filter the 4" ducting.

Any ideas???? And how small of micron would i need if i use screening?

Like super super cheap? Try a dryer sheet and change out once every week or so or
Grab an ac filter and cut it to size. You’ll have a few after you size and cut them.

mate may sound stupid but - I have a 4 in pipe sticking through the way over a stream so nice cool air 24/7 using a 100mm pc fan usb power, using the wifes old panty hose (stocking for young fullars) as filter over end of pipe- lasts for 3-4 months and re stretch it - honky dory it works

Panty hose sound alike a good idea. I've tried the air filter before. I couldn't get it to stick to the side of my tent.
