Just found this ad on local listings... Can anyone tell me if they sound like a good quality item? I've never used LEDS nor do I know much about them.
I need something for my SMALL VEG. closet. Been debating a very low (maybe 150W) MH, OR T5 fluorescents, or LED?
They are asking $300 for one led light. This is all the info I have on them.

- Led lifespan 50,000hrs+ , no maintenance, simple plug & play grow light
- Easy to use and operate. Plugs directly into standard 120v outlet (will also run on 220/240v)
- Heavy duty, professional, Full Spectrum LED grow light designed to run 24/7
- Grow lights can be daisy chained together to save cabling
- Brass hanging hooks for growrooms for easy hanging
- Saves 70%+ on hydro while exceeding the PAR output of a standard 600-800watt HPS, no more wasted light just whats needed
- Perfect for 4-6+ plants depending on your garden plants size
- Custom high power LEDs, extra large heat-sink, air cooled and fan cooled
- Uses an electronic built-in switching mode with a 97% efficient power supply, does not require a ballast as required with MH, HPS and fluorescent (this is inefficient and will eventually burnout).
- The high power LEDs run super cool, efficient and produce little heat. 3 powerful quiet built-in cooling fans keep the grow light running cool, you don’t need to buy additional expensive cooling systems.
- The LEDs full spectrum covers a 120degree wide light pattern giving your plants an even, powerful light source of whites, reds & blues they require during the vegetation and flowering stages, you don’t need to buy additional bulky reflectors as required with other lights such as MH/HPS.
- The high power full spectrum LEDs concentrate on the exact light spectrums fully absorbed by all plants to promote higher yields in the plants, better growth & increased budding, flowering and fruiting.
- Ideal for all phases of plants growth, suitable for indoor hydroponic, plant-breeding houses, gardens, farms, greenhouses, horticultural parks etc, or anywhere where PAR light intensity is required for fast and speedy harvesting
- Tailored PAR spectrum to provide all plants with the required spectrum they thrive on to maximize photosynthesis and provide quicker vegetation / flowering with an increase in yields compared to standard MH and HPS or other standard led grow lights
- Either Full Spectrum Light can be upgraded to 20% more vegetation or 20% more flowering while still handling all stages of plants life
- Dimensions 16"Lx9"Wx3.5"D

So what do you guys think? Is it worth it?! (=

In my honest opinion, (i have never used LED's, trying them this go around) I would go with the cheapest light when it comes to early stages of veg, the T5 will do a pretty good job. I always liked them. For a while I did T5s for clones/seedlings and small veg. Move up to dualspecs after that, but this grow I'll try LED for flower. I think LED would only be worth the extra money for the flower cycle because veg lights already run pretty cheap, do a good job, and the flower cycle is where you want that big investment. My 2 cents.

However if you have heat issues and things of that nature, then sure grab yourself a small LED but research research research for a while first. I changed my mind probably 8 or 9 times on the LED I'm going to order... I'm going with either Johnson LED or Tasty. I don't want to spend money on something like that and have no clue about details or how good customer service is... Talking to the owner is refreshing. For 300$ you can get a Cree/COB LED light which seems to be the high end stuff...

Get a single vero 29 and crank it.. Should be able to light it up for right bought a hundo wit an eBay driver and fanned computer heatsink.. That is exactly what I would do.. Not sure what brand panel you were looking at but a lot of them kick out a surprising amount of heat

I'm looking to get something for my Small Veg. closet. (maybe 2.5ft width, 3ft height, 4feet depth).
I was thinking to get a low watt MH (maybe150w)? Or a T5 HO Fluorescent? Or a LED?

I just came across this in my local listings:
Price being asked is $300 per led light. These are the specs and only info. I have. The seller said they got it from the producer for some work they did for the guy.

Would they be worth buying at $300 is my main concern!

Thanks guys!
No, not any info like wattage and type of LED

How many watts? I didn't see that in the specs.

I'm just fininshing up my first grow with LEDs and am extremely impressed. I picked up a 300 watt Galaxy Hydro (about 150 W actual) for about 80 bucks, figured it was worth taking the chance for an upgrade from CFLs. It was definitely worth it. My little Candy Kush Auto is a couple days from harvest and is full of nice dense, hard, stinky buds. It's been under the LEDs from germination.

I'd definitely choose it over a 150W MH. It runs a lot cooler, puts out more useable light, is surprisingly well made. I've used T5s with good results but the little LED unit is imo far superior.

I'm sold on LEDs and now that the price is down and dropping I'll never never look back. No forced ventilation needed except for a little bit of air exchange, great efficiency, beats the snot out of the HPS 250 I used to use in the little tent. The only caveat is that optimum coverage for this fixture is about 2x2. Probably it would be OK for a little bit bigger but I'd prefer 2 units in a 2x4 tent. I think that would be at least as effective as a 400W MH or HPS without the heat or the weight and inconvenience of a ballast. And they'll last many many times as long, with almost no deterioration in light output.

Take a look on Amazon and eBay. My unit was sold under the brand name "populargrow" but it's actually the same as Galaxy Hydro. Mars Hydro is also cheap and very well rated. They both seem to have a good balance of wavelengths, they're not junk thrown together just to suck in the unwary. There are other inexpensive lights out there but from my own experience and reports from others you're not likely to beat their performance.

Here's the exact unit I got.

Yeah that is what I was trying to figure out as well...
The cheapest vero I saw was like 350$ for a 120W.

I might just got with a simple fluro. for $100.

With those kind of height restraints you are going to want to look into either cfl or flouro tubes. For any decent led you are going to want 20in plus head room for the light.Flouros can get within a couple inches.
