Need some help (pictures)

I just got these 2 plants from a friend for me to grow. I dont know how old they are. Can someone tell me? I have also noticed some yellow spots around the sides and tips of the leaves.

It looks like nute burn, are you using miracle grow soil?

so what have you or your buddy been feeding it?

he left me with some plant food grotek heavy blossom? some other nutrients
