So, after doing a lil looking around, the hlg 135w qb looks to me
Nothing it's your money. I would just spend the extra $18 for a quality product.
I agree. The extra quality is worth the extra money. I believe you will be more satisfied with the hlg. Honestly if you wanted to do the diy thing, you could probably do it for cheaper. Nobody's saying you can't get the sf1000. Their just trying to help you get a lil extra for your cash.

If you want a good laugh, check this out. It had me fuckin rolling.

Here's one of the newer threads complaining about the Mars stuff. No Mars or Spider Farmer for me. I don't like being electrocuted personally.

Ok so mh is at the least a shock machine. Go with the hlg.

If you are on a budget, just throw an hid in there.
Cheap led is a waste of money and generates just as much heat as an hps, or mh
No my Mars 2000 you can actually touch it I have some old 1000 hps it will burn the shit outta you if you touch em

Someone was talking about heat putting out and have you never bumped into your light or was knelt down touched it before ?
Absolutely... that's why i make it a habit to never touch them. I like to think that I learn from my mistakes. Lol... seriously though, nothing wrong with hid lighting. It gets hot but they grow great bud!

I have a HLG 260w QB648 (2x diablo boards on a single heat sink) and im loving it so far. With your budget, id go with @PadawanWarrior 's suggestion, spend the extra 20$ and get one of the top quality lighting brands for your budget. If you genuinely cannot afford that, then id go with HID as an inferior quality LED is basically throwing your money out.

If you had the choice between a warm diet Shasta for $1.75 and an ice cold Coca Cola for $2.00... would you willingly buy the cheaper one? Now imagine having to live with that warm knock off diet soda for the next how ever many months, until you realize that was a bad choice, and spend more money on a different soda, having now spent more money than you would have, had you just bought that cold Coke in the first place.

Don't buy a warm knock off if you can help it... you'll regret it later

I have 2 Gavita Pro 1700e's.......... not cheap at about $1300 each BUT, and it's a big but- I'm pulling 50 oz under each light in a 4 x 4 area and I doubt any of you are close to that (basically 2.2 grams per watt). Both lights paid for themselves many times over in just 1 crop. The things that sold me on them are:

1. 100% Waterproof
2. 5 year warranty vs. 3 year warranty with most everyone else
3. Over 3300 diodes so the drivers don't overly push them, thus they last longer
4. High quality build with wide light spread (fixture is 43 inches X 44 inches)
5. Top bin diodes, including far-red which are important for numerous reasons

You can find the entire grow if you google "sshz and gavita".....it's at the top of the page. Don't think short term, and don't buy cheap. Buy high quality, and in the long run, you'll be much happier. By the way, that's 12 plants in the picture.
