Nervous about first grow

I swear I learn something new everyday. It's just so interesting and good weed is good weed, especially when you grow it yourself

you will learn something new everyday for as long as you want to learn something.

when I first started growing they called me the student lol, I would spend 2-4 hours a day watching videos and reading riu.

Alot of the joy is gone, I found great method and I stick to that so it's just routine

(Sog style flood tables) only way I've ever seen 2 off a light

but honestly nothing compares to experience.

if I can tell you anything its environment is the key. Consistency also

I say go for it if you really want too.

if things start to go bad, just transfer it to a bag of ocean forest

Goodluck

I've been able to run without chiller at 74-78 ish but only if I use things like collars to ensure zero light leaks and bleach for maintence, but the snot would always show up eventually.

Let us know what you choose n how it goes though

Cool bloom is added at 1/4 tbs per gallon, weeks 5-7. It helps buds swell and ripen

I suggest you work a little bit more on shaping plants, right when you switch to flower, strip the bottom half of plants, that way you get big budon the top half of the plant, closer to the light there's much denser

did I miss anything?

So here is an update. I decided to buy a chiller. I didn't want to have to worry about the whole water bottle method. Plus I will keep growing so it's a good thing to have. My girls are two weeks old and looking good so far. I just changed the rez today after a week. I put about 400ppm worth of nutrients in the water and set the PH to 5.6. Oh and I forgot to mention that my AC went out and it's 95F in my grow area!!! Water is still at about 75 :-/ I am watch it though and adjusting as much as I can. My water chiller should be here sometime next week. I can't wait

you better hop on Craigslist and buy an air conditioner

your plants will look fine for a few days, then you go in there one day and they'll be severely wilted.

Spend the $50 on craigslist ac!

Yeah I just got it fixed and it's about 90F I'm there now. I am hoping the night time will really cool it down in there

I'm with you on the nervousness. I haven't done this gig in 30 years. Now everything is more high tech. I decided to go with a Mar II 1200w LED in a 4'9" X 4'9" X 6'7" Tent . My biggest problem has been with mild fertilizer burn. Luckily its easy to fix with simple flushing. Attached is a pic of my 28 day old girls ( biggest 3 ). The 2 smaller one's are about 14 days. Good luck with your 1st Grow !

What nutes?

Looks like too much nitrogen, getting toxic.
Could just be lighting, new growth looks like right color green tho.

Do you use ec pen?

It's definitely the lighting. I color corrected as best I can but with LED's it's tough. Nutes are General Hydroponic Flora series . Following the Simple schedule. PH is hovering around 6.0.

I always suggest people to try the GH maxi series. Its a pH balanced powder and all in one formula. Just add 1-1.5 scoops per gallon. Waters 6.0 pH and 1000 ppm. Use maxigrow for veg, maxibloom for flower and kool bloom to ripen. Its cheapest and easiest system IMO.

1./2. Just keep the rapid rooter moist(not soaked) until roots hit water. Keep bubble on from the start it will keep the hydroton(if ur using it) moist underneath the rapid rooter and the root will make its way down. 3 times a day was too much, like i said just keep rapid rooter moist(not soaked)

3. You don't need the chiller IMO, since ur using hydroguard and changing water weekly and starting with low 60's temp. My temps are 75-78 and i didnt have a problem, i change water weekly and start with 64 degrees. If its a real hot day i might drop a frozen water bottle in but i'd say i average high 70's with no issue. Don't overthink it, it's resiliant, thats why its called "weed".

Like someone else said, get ph to 5.8.

Thank you everyone for the great advice! Yeah after reading all the horror stories on here about high water Temps and root rot I just wanted to go ahead and grab a chiller. I realize now that I probably don't NEED one. But it's just one less thing to worry about. My water Temps stay at about 75F. Now that I started feeding them nutrients that are growing like crazy! I am excited and I will be posting pictures soon.

Okay so here are some pictures. They are about 2 and half weeks old. I need some help..... as you can see they are drooping a little and one plant is developing some yellow spots. Kinda worried now. My PH is 5.7 and my ppm is 575. I just started adding nutrients about 5 days ago and stayed around the ppm300 mark. Every two days I added about 200ppm worth of nutrients. My water temp I believe is the issue. Is stays at about 75F. My roots are still white. I FINALLY GOT MY WATER COOLER! Hooking it up tonight. So is that going to solve my problem? bongsmilie

Hope it solves your problem----a little skeptical it will. Did you mean a store bought chiller or are you going to modify a water cooler? If chiller, what hp?

A~~~

Yeah I don't think that is my problem. It will help but I don't think that's what it is. After doing some research I believe it's nutrient deficiency. Maybe I should up my nutrients to 1000ppm? Is that a bad idea?
