not sure if anyones trying or mulling over this idea but I thought it'd be great to get Granddaddy Purple into a autoflowering seed form.

was wondering if a GDP (fem) and either a (male) short stuff #1 or (male) Ruderalis Indica would work as a cross

you can try la diva or carmela*not sure on spelling* or just go to attitude and type in auto in the search headline

I happen to know that dinafem is dropping some new auto strains early next year... Chesse Auto, Auto white widow, and i believe a couple others... lets hope for some purple

an auto durban would be so amazing... i loved purple poison..

I'm a few generations into a gdp auto project. On the first cross (f1) of the gdp/auto don't expect any autos...instead select the best gdp male and female and cross them, the resulting seeds be 25% auto..meaning 1 in 4 will be auto...pop a ton of them and from there kill all the nonautos and again select the best representation of gdp, cross again and repeat few more generations to get some nice stable auto seeds. I've made some nice selections and the density, smell and darkpurple of the gdp are carrying on really well.

...also rather then using a auto that's similar to gdp structure, smells, or colors..I recommend the opposite. Use an auto that's nothing like GDP so that the selections are easier. If you use a really purple auto to start with, it would make it harder to select specifically for gdp traits in future generations because the purple could have come from either parent...hope that makes sense. :)

I don't know nothing about no breeding, but I just watched that Paddy's Pub Egg episode today. Rep + for autoflower paddy's pub egg reference.

Good day.

hey grow1620 what form of GDP are you using? (I only have access to the new seed form from connessiour genetics, has anyone tried this type of gdp or know what cut they used?)

also do you have any pics of the project so far?

The only tips I'd add here, are that

a. If you want to do the best breeding possible, you'll have to run a lot of plants to select from. The more the better, really. If you can run 30 plants at once, do it. Remember, many will be males, and you'll probably be culling those quickly. Not only does running more plants give you a greater genetic offspring variety to help you pick the best ones for crossing, but it will also helps you identify potential negative traits and stability issues easier.

b. If you want to create a truly stable (ie "inbred") line, you'll need at least 5 generations of crosses, and 10 is better. Assuming a 9 week germination-to-harvest time from see each time, you're looking at at least a full years project, with two years probably being more appropriate.

Rum - unfortunately I'm working with a bagseed, but it's from 'ken's cut' of gdp. I have some pics of the mother, f1 I selected (out of 15 females) the f2 mother which was selected from about 20 females etc...I'm only on the f3 gen right now and sex is just starting to show on a few males.

This is kinda old thread now, I don't log in here too much.. let me know, and I can dig up a few pics :)
