New Beginnings for Massachussetts and I

So, I lolipopped the girls the other day and brought the trimmings to the kitchen to soak and get clean. Maybe like, what looks like a gallon of unpressed wet trimmings? Cooked in clarified butter and 5 times that in water for a few hours. I tried a teaspoon this morning. (random no work day) I'm suddenly high as fuck.

The moral of the story is: use your trimmings.

I hear you on the trim- have 2 big tupperware containers full of bud trim and another 2 boxes full of bottom popcorn buds from my current chop- plan to seal and freeze until needed. Butter is awesome and easy to make and use. Just hard to judge dosage- my first shot was with toast and jam and I was wrecked for 4-6 hrs. LOL

Heh, yeah. I went with a measured teaspoon after mixing the butter. (since THC rises, I have heard) So hopefully this dosage will remain constant. (and I'll cut it down to a half for me, because I'm a real lightweight)

If from seed you just got a phenotype that requires its own regiment. I would stop boosting nitrogen.
They are Durban/RedHead stranger hybrids from greenpoint, out of five seeds, there appears to be three different pheno,s

I am running my ph at about 5.5 and i only fed one day a very small amount of nitro, with no change the next day.

My Blue Widow grow is presenting some interesting challenges.
First and foremost, they're short and compact. I had planned to top once and then use LST in veg until creating a scrog for flower. The problem is that at 5" tall and day 36 from seed the plants are so compact there's really nothing to bend. The main stems are getting thick and strong and the topped nodes are growing in nicely, but they're compact as well. If this keeps up I may have to just do 2 or 3 tops and mainline. I think I have at least 2 and maybe 3 phenos, but they're all pretty bushy. They're supposed to double in stretch, but at this veg rate it'll be at least 2 months from seed before they're a foot tall !
Last night I learned something interesting about how they react to watering techniques. I've been using a plastic iced tea bottle with 3 small holes in the top as a watering can. Flow's about right and the leaves get to taste the nutes too. They've been drinking about 1.25 cups a day in 1 gal pots. Last night I was in a hurry and poured the water in instead of letting it rain. Within 1/2 hour all 5 looked like they were seriously overwatered and/or nitrogen toxic. This morning, all was forgiven and they were back to normal.
NOTE TO SELF ... let it rain .... water slowly.
The Quantum boards are great. At 30" above the tops I'm getting a pretty uniform 35K lux and the tent is staying at 74 degrees during the day ... drops off to low to mid 60s during dark hours. Truly have to use protective glasses when I open the tent unless I shut off the boards or dim them way down.

@Bosgrower, what light cycle are you running right now? Increasing the duration of the dark cycle will help stretch you kids out a bit.
18/6

And here are some shots of the tallest and fastest of the bunch ... my potential pheno 3

I don't think that yellow bottom leaf means anything. It's the only leaf on any of the plants with that problem and it's been that was for a few weeks.

The shit is out of control- Just spent 3 days chopping, trimming,drying-Moving old system out-new plants in-draining and re-filling,feeding,phing-4 buckets- showing MIL(mother-in -law) how to trim popcorn-set first chopped-after cutting buds off(6 big ones) into cvault to start cure-will add more as they dry(only 25 more) Find racks from dehydrator, add 4 racks full of popcorn to dry+ figure out what to do with 1 lb. of sugar+ baby buds(thinking air dry and freeze for edibles. Multitasking from Hell. Then 87 yr. mother-in-law #2- hits me up with"what are you gonna do with that?
Caught me off guard and responded"donate it, sell it.,whatever. Response "you can't sell it" Next response will be storing it up for 2018 storefront distribution, with proper licensing< of course. And I wonder why I drink!!LOL

Good luck with licensing. Most towns are banning them and others are adding grow facilities (can't have both apparently in same town).

I also suspect we will have a seed to sale/jail tracking requirement. No untraceable product will be allowed..

I don't understand. My photos were 15" with 10 nodes at day 36. I should have started training long before this. The small ones in this picture are 30 day autos from seed. Is it the light or the pot size?

It may be the strain and it may be something else. Everyone posts their big honkin' buds online but it's almost impossible to find early veg photos or descriptions of Blue Widow. I've reached out to some growers that posted on other sites years ago to ask for comments or advice. Right now I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing as long as the plants are lush and strong. If it needs 75+ days from seed before I flip to flower, I won't be happy but I'll wait. and if the plants maintain this growth pattern I'll just mainline them and hope for the best.

I'm going through the single and double freebies I have sitting the refrigerator and looking for a few beans to add to this grow. I think I may add an HSO Black Dog and a G13 Labs Blueberry Gum just for fun.

My white widows are doing the same thing. I've seen grow journals that say the same.

Sounds like genetics to me.

Looks like your into pre-flower- Too late to train- just did Auto-ww. grow- they will run on you- just count on doubling HGT- once flowers appear- and hope your lights can go up far enough. My girls hit 55" as they came into full flower! Auto's rock!!45+ colas on 4 plants+ Shitload of popcorn+ enough Sugar leaf trim and enough BABY BUDS TO MAKE 2ft by 6ft. stick of butter or 400 DZ> Toll House cookies!

I think I need to contact dcf. I went out of town for 8 days and left the kids with a caregiver. Well this morning was the first time I got to see them and they look neglected. Even though I specifically said to remove the humidity covers from the seedlings cups the day after I left, they were still on. Seedling are alive but struggling. Crap.

Also two of the older kids showed signs of under watering. Hopefully it is just the first signs and nothing will die off on me. But I didn't need stress going into flower; now I have to wait a few more days for recovery.

I'm a bad parent. Hopefully they won't take the kids away.
