I operate a couple cnc machines by day for my job. My frame will probably end up being some 3/16 aluminum plate with holes cnced to it for the bjb holders to poke through.

I do wish i could use wood (baltic birch plywood) but something tells me that may be a poor idea hehe
1/8" aluminum sheet will shed heat better anyway.

Inquiring minds want to know ....

Is there such a thing as too many fine roots? I just performed an emergency up-potting from 3 to 7 gal pots, and the entire 3 gal volume was solid hair roots.

For all you soil and coco growers out there ... if leaves are curling down at the tips, and the bottom leaves are starting to yellow, in addition to N deficiency, over watering, under watering. and some form of cal-mag deficiency, add too many roots and not enough medium to the list. The root mass appeared to be too dense for water and nutes to penetrate and stay long enough to be absorbed.

And for all you soil/coco fans out there ... even with 2.5-3gal of solid root mass, it takes a shitload of soil to fill 5 7gal pots. And they barely fit in a 2x4 tent ... which is why I was planning to wait until I moved them to the 5x5 before doing this.

And as for the root mass ... any reason not to take a screw driver and carefully loosen things up in there so the center mass has some better aeration?
that is why I am digging my grow with Helen, I can actually SEE daily her heart and soul~ her roots. I am always wondering what the heck is going on inside Wilmas bucket and what her roots look like....(thank you be4meLiz for turning me on to DWC!)

"remove cannabis from the federal Controlled Substances Act and instead regulate and tax it similarly to alcohol.US Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) and House Rep. Jared Polis (D-CO) introduced the bills, which end federal prohibition, allow states to decide whether to legalize, and impose certain federal regulations on cannabis businesses in legal states."

Where is Ron? I want to go kiss him. Go Ron!

Another thing....I notice every time I water Wilma the WW she droops. Then an hour later she is up and perky. Did you find this with yours?
My WW auto is on the right. <10% Amber today. All my autos got a flush and feed today. She seems to droop all the time but she has lots of bud density.

Im going to be running them quite soft, about 35w a piece (6 on a meanwell 185-48a), but i agree aluminum plate would be better. I just hate cleaning aluminum shavings up.
If those were qb's, you wouln't even need a heatsink. I'm running 2 @ less than 140w each (275w for the pair) and the temp on the top of the heatsink is 110. I have a thermometer sitting right on top of the heatsink that is reading 84 degrees. The tent is holding around 75.

Heat isn't an issue with them.

Well by what I see, you don't seem to grow like a newbie so you obviously have done your study. My favorite web site is down for reviewing strain genetics; is HBSS an auto flower variety? I am a newbie in many things such as hydro, outdoor grows ..... But my specialty is low light horizontal type grows, organic soil, and any technique that favors low light such as scrog. BUT this year I am going outdoors, thank you to all that made this law possible here in MA!

Well, thank you for the compliment, but I have only been in this grow stuff for about 3 months.
My first grow was a photo soil plant, and a nightmare~ my cat ate my kush. Dont ask. My second plant that is going now is an auto ww..gracioiusly given to me by be4meliz, and she is in soil. Yep, my HBSS is an auto in DWC (I will never go back to photo plants, I check the tents to much!)... it took my son quite a while to find someone who had seeds, they are out of stock everywhere. I cant wait to see how she does. I am a newbie at everything, my nature is to investigate as much as I can, then just jump in there and do it, the best knowledge is experience ;-)

Qbs were not in the budget. My 6 cxm22 and 2 clu 1212, with drivers, wires, heatsinks, cob holders etc ran me 270

I will run them soft at first, and then just buy another driver to double the wattage to each cob later if needed

So since it was watering day and I decided to rearrange things a bit, it seemed like a good time for a photo op.

Day 84 from seed auto Bubblicious. The last of 3. I cannot wait until she finishes as I'm soooo sick of her shit. Total pain in my backside the whole way through. The only consolation is that she'll yield as much (likely more) as her sisters did combined. Learned a LOT using Kind Soil. I won't use it again.

New pair. Panama lime auto @21 days and Cheese auto @14 days. PL isn't liking her 30%kind soil/70% seedling soil mixture. Still too hot. Cheese however, is loving it. Sorry for the dark pic of Cheesey. They absolutely love being under the COBs.

And.. Last week I started 2 auto Amnesia in coco hempys with netpots and supplemental air, ala Autopots airdome idea.

P3260115.JPG

And cuz why the heck not, I left the auto AK's lower 5% growing to further test auto's. Oddly, she has new flower growth and started drinking like crazy 3 days after chop. I'll call her done when the Bubblicious finishes.

P4010126.JPG P4010127.JPG

2 more of those white buckets to play with and 6 lids. Also have two 6" netpots so maybe, If I get the urge to buy even more nutes, I'll turn 'em into DWC's. Hmm.. Anyone tried canna coco nutes in hydro?

Yeah, I think indicas are divas and like to droop. Like they are trying to tell you something! I would love to have more than one flowering at the same time. I dont have the room right now. What I do is when one is about 4-6 weeks old I will start another seed...so I will always have one in flower and one in veg. I would LOVE to have 2 in flower at the same time and be able to start 2 new seeds. Oh no, I see a bigger tent in my future, and more $$! I think I should calm my jets and see if I can get ONE to the stage of trim, dry, and cure before I start thinking BIGGER :-)

I love to experiment. Actually next month when I get my grow room (which happens to be sunniest room in the place) I was thinking of just taking an auto seed, sticking it in a pot full of Ocean Forest, and putting a few CFL's over it. no tent, no nutes, no muss or fuss. Just watering her and letting her do her own thing~and see what happens. Hey, they did it back in woodstock days without tents and meters and stuff. right? LOL
