So I have 2 200 watt cfl with 50 actual watts putting out 3600 lumens each reddish color, plugged in a power strip, zip tied to the side of a plastic bin. In the middle of the power strip I have 1 100 watt cfl with 23 actual watts and 1600 lumens soft white. I spray painted the bin white and hung a cheap 10 dollar 5 inch fan facing the lights. I could switch the reddish strong lights for the other soft white lights. My babies are 4 days old and about 2 inches tall with 4 green leaves. I just added the stronger lights today it was running off of 1 100 watt and a 24 inch grow light flt from walley world. So let me know how to improve

Blue spectrum over red during veg. first 2 weeks of flowering keep using the blue spectrum to minimize stretching. keep the lights within 2-5 inches from the plant and cover the whole plant as much as possible. you can scrog, read up on it if you don't know what it is.

You can get some decent results in a small area with CFLs, I've done it. Keep in mind, the equivalent watts are irrelevant. Just keep up with your actual watts.

Your setup looks just fine for a small CFL but eventually you will need more lights to get decent results
We typically state the actual watts, not the equivalents, so yours are 23 watt
I assume your CFL's are 6500K (typical for veg) but for flowering you should get 2700K (5000k can be used for both stages as a supplement)
Your bulbs are very close together, which may be okay for the short term but as your plants grow you may need to spread out the light a bit more

Using a clear cup is not good, you should tape or cover it up to prevent your roots being exposed to light
I hope you have drain holes on those cups, without them your plants will suffer
Your soil looks like it could use a bit more perlite, maybe add some more when you transplants next.
Looks like you are not over watering, good thing as that is the most common error made by first time growers
Best not to have the fan blowing directly on the plants, try to aim it more around them
keep your grow room clean, sweep up that spilled soil

3:1 ratio of 6500K and 2700K for veg
3:1 ratio of 2700K and 6500K for flowering
5000k can be used as a supplement during both veg and flower
Dr. Jekyll

Yes, as they get older they will need more light, the bendable neck lamp as you call it works very well for side lighting
Nutes, well there are many types, all will work if used correctly, some are expensive, others are not as user friendly
There are plenty of good nutes, but I would suggest KISS, don't buy into a marketing scam

The lights should be in the lower, blue spectrum for veg and red for flowering. That set up is good for now. Move the cups so the are under the lights so they don't have to lean over as they will in time. this is good for now but you'll want to surround the plant with CFL's as they grow bigger... I'd say around week 2 from seed you should start adding more light. I never used CFL's, just my T5 that is in my sig. Sorry for the late response.

I can't saw for when to start adding nutes as every strain is different. Ideal to aim for a nice even 10-10-10 fertilizer and add at 1/4 strength fisrt then build up. Follow the direction for the nutes and you won't have problems but minor nute burn once you start adding more. Once that happens pull back from fertilizing as much and that is what you plants cant take. Check my sig out for some tips and such. Good luck!
