So 2 days ago i was working and on the way outta work when i noticed this dresser outside that looked like nobody didnt need it. i went next door and asked the owner if i could have it. He said take it all so i grabbed my truck and loaded it up. I took it home and took a good look at what i could make as far as a grow box because i have been looking for quite sometime for one and needed something small that i could hide in my apartment. This box fit the specs for a decent box and took it to a friends wood shop.

We first took a trip to our local hardware store (ACE HARDWARE) to get supplies. The person at the counter asked what we were making in a wierd tone. I live in California and have my medical reccamendation so im legal to have 6 plants in veg and 6 in flower.

Then we trimmed the box of leftover wood (cuz it was attached to a countertop). stripped the inside of the box and took the drawers out.

Next I detached all the fronts of the drawers so i can reuse them in my idea to hide the box.

Next after taking off the whole front face part of the dresser as seen in part one i made a door out of the drawers and extra wood for the front of the dresser. **ill post the last part asap**

Then attached the finished door with hinges. So now from the outside the look is of a drressor but with nothing inside. This morning the caulking went in aswell as the white paint.

i read a hightimes issue where a guy did the same thing. he was only able to grow a plant ScrOG but got just over 3oz. great idea for the stealthy. good luck, i will be watching

LOL, is that a bubbler next to the screwdriver?

Excellent and very stealthy idea. Are you going to vent through the bottom where it won't been seen?

I've been desperately trying to figure out a way to build a veg box that can be as stealth as my main grow room. This may be the ticket.

thanks alot it works with any dresser you can find, just take out the drawers and you have a hollow growing box. Next i want to drill exit and entrance holes for fans in the back and then place it in front of my bedroom window so it spits air outside and gets fresh air. We found flat white works better than gloss. Anyone know where i could get small 5 inch entrance and exit fans?

that picture was the first half of my project ill post pics as i go along. it looks like a total harmless dressor. Im caulking the whole inside airtight as so no light exits from the outside. i think its olmost 100% undetectable. i came up with the idea because i live in an apartment and sometimes my land lord will ask if anything is making any noise and once she came inside and looked around. I thought to myself inside a dresser would be the last ultimate last place she would look. ill just put my room fan on while the whole system is running, hide the chords behind my couch and you wont even know its there

Some computer shops will also sell you speed controllers for 12V computer fans. A fan makes much less noise even when running at 80% normal RPM and air throughput.

You might think about incorporating a carbon filter in your air path. I think you can buy replacement activated carbon filters and cut them to size. Will also help with light trapping your air path.

Would like to see what you get from flowering a half dozen just-rooted clones under a passel of big CFLs or a 150W HPS in that thing.

Really neat job mate. Just an idea here - to avoid the conspicuous nature of a lock, if you could put one of those drawer fronts on sliders or little hinges, you could have a barrel lock on the main door and then cover it up, so nobody would accidentally open it. Just a thought

I did incorporate that idea. Its hidden on the bottom where it opens. I got two 4.75 inch fans today. Ill post pics of the finished box tonite. I use a 250W HPS in there. the light system alltogether was $90 online at a shop. box was free. Im going to keep current pictures of my grow box. ill be using fdd's idea with having about 10-20 clones in my space.

I get my fans like you are looking for,at surpluscenter.com.The muffle fans are 3-1/8"x3-1/8"x1-1/2".and they are 120 vac.I got a couple of the 200 cfm and 300cfm fans.and they work good for me.This way I dont have to get a adapter. Thats my two cents PEACE
