Well I am nearing completion of my room. The total cost for the lights, reflector and and all wiring was $25.00.

They are 100w equivalent daylight bulbs. When the clones or seedlings beging to grow I may use Y splitters and go with 6 total. I am only looking for minimal growth in this room. 1/2 the veg cycle and the entire flower cycle will be done elsewhere.

I am still thinking about touching up the ceiling, putting a vent cover up there. I was also thinking about cutting a snug fit wood shelft and a fire blanket in the front to prevent light from escaping.

Pretty cool, nice job on the hood, what exactly did you make it out of, is it just a thin sheet of metal that you bent to that shape or is it pre shaped also how many plants do you plan puttting under it?

The items that I used to construct the light and a brief description;

Assembled like a sandwich, the top metal reflector is a sheet of 6" metal duct which has a natural round to it already. Next is small piece of wood likely 3/4 inch to help maintain the shape of the reflector. Secondly the piece of wood provides a surface to the mount the light fixture. The third pieice unseen in the images above is the actual light fixture.

At this point you need to dril a hole for your power cord. You will also need to drill 2 holes for the eye hooks. To assemble simply feed the eyehook from the top through all the layers and bolt it up. The last step is putting the attractive cover over everything, I have tossed this in the garbage.

This room is rocking now 6 CFLS, new paint job, new ventilation, new lower shelf. I will have to post some updated pictures.

I will be vegging 6 plants in soil likely to 12" at time in this area in some nice square hydro pots.
