New grow setup advice needed - UK

Hi, I am about to start a new indoor grow of maybe 1 plant in a small area of about 2.5 x 2.3 x 2.7 feet (I will probably use LST due to the space constrictions). I intend to use CFL lighting and have a number of questions if anyone would be able to help.

Firstly, would a number of bulbs such as this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sylvania-Energy-Dimmable-Equivalent-Warmwhite/dp/B002KQ5DAO/ref=pd_ts_light_14?ie=UTF8&s=lighting
be sufficient? How many of these bulbs would I need for one plant? I also noticed that this bulb emits light at 2700K which is useful for flowering, so would I need another type of bulb for vegetative growth? If so could anybody point me in the right direction for any online retailer that supplies these?

Secondly I would like to know what type of fitting the bulbs would insert into, and where these are obtainable in the UK (preferably online), ideally with minimal electronic knowledge needed!

Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thankyou and peace :leaf:

The bulb in the link looks a little expensive. Those bulbs are available in Tesco, Focus and Wilkinsons for a fraction of that price. It looks like you are paying for the ability to dim the bulb but it's unlikely you will need to do that.
Here's a link to bigger and cheaper 2700k and 6500k bulbs with normal bayonet caps:

Also have a look on fleabay for 125w envirolites, some will come fully wired in a reflector for about £35.

Not sure of the best way to light up your space. I grow in 1 sq foot and used over 130 watts of cfl's for best results. Your space is 6.25 sq ft so such lighting would be impractical. Have a look at maturesmoker's thread as he has something similar to what you are looking for. Here's a link:

I would say use a 125/150w ENVIROLITE/ECO LIGHT, YOU LL NEED 1 BLUE SPEC AND 1 RED, THEY WORK BEST WITHOUT A REFLECTOR SUPRISINGLY, EITHER THAT OR A 90W LED UFO GROWLIGHT, YOU LL FIND BOTH OF THESE ON E-BAY ILL POST 1 PIC OF MY LIGHT SETUP SO YOU GET THE IDEA.,. IF YOU WANNA KNOW MORE MESSAGE ME AND LOOK IN MY ALBUMS FOR MY LATEST CFL/LED GROW - STELTHY, PS SORRY ABOUT CAPS MY KEYBOARD IS BROKEN HOPE TO GET A NEW ONE SOON :)

PS THE ENVIROLITE CAN BE USED ON THE VERT. OR HORIZONTAL, BUT IF YOU USE IT HORIZONTAL, YOU WILL NEED A REFLECTOR BUT THEY ARE CHEAP AS CHIPS fOR A BASIC 1 :) - STELTHY

Hi, thanks for all the replies they were very useful. I think now I am going to look into buying a 125/150watt Envirolight. Would this be enough for 2 plants and also would an oscilating fan be enough to maintain a decent grow temperature?
Thanks again :leaf:

2x 125/150w 1x blue and 1x red spec, is perfect for 2 plants let them veg for a max of 3 weeks with the blue spec, because you dont want the plants to bush up to much, light penetration is an important factor :) then swap to the red spec for the duration of flowering (budding), if you have an exhaling fan, and either a fan or passive intake, depending on the dimensions of your grow-space, the envirolite/eco-lite's shouldn't heat up all that much, if you choose to add an oscilating fan make sure its blowing upwards over/through the cfl lighting so the draft will be forced towards the extracter fan ( at the top ) ... If thats how your setup is customised?! Just direct the heat away from your ladies to wherever you ventalation outtake is, so in a nut shell yes this would be perfect for you :) - stelthy :P
