To a certain extent that it true, but there's too much of an automatic 'purple is shit, everyone agrees so don't use them', attitude which is equally as arrogant, the difference is that there's a dedicated group of trolls that work together.

It's obvious that the OP's plants are healthy and everything is good, it is disingenuous to say that "we can't tell because of the purple light", that may be true if the OP was trying to diagnose a problem or the plants were in flower.
Not to a certain extent. It's completely true. Coming off as God's gift to growing and specifically said in his first post in this thread this was his first attempt at growing anything ever. It's not his lights getting shit on, it's his egotistical attitude.

I've said multiple times on here there isn't anything wrong with blurple lights. They have there place in spots for veg.

You're also wrong about determining if his plants are healthy or not. It's impossible to tell with blurple pictures.

I have looked at your grows bro and I’m completely blowing you out of the water on my first grow with these lights. I’ll let you know what my yield is but try not to be too upset. Lemme guess you still haven’t figured out that LEDs are far far superior to HID
And you don't know shit about a good yeild. Your plants are like 12" tall. Here's 25 ounces in a 3x3. Colas as big as my forearm. In your shitty space with my setup that's 8lbs. You ain't getting 2 pounds. Maybe 1. Fact not opinion.
Your blurple led is just as inefficient as a HID with the worst possible spectrum. Again not opinion, fact. That why your grow looks like it's on Mars. Maybe when you actually know what your doing you'll look back on these moronic post and laugh at yourself. I know everyone else here is. Lol.

Thread turned bad ! Just wondering but what are the difference s in led colour, not k temp but purple and white ? I have seen some supposedly good light manufacturers still shotin blurple ! Is it generally just older tech diodes ? I've been looking hard at led but not looked blurple, don't plan on it either just wondered ?

Blurple led have huge peaks in red and blue with hardly anything in between. White led have a balanced spectrum from blue to red with plenty of green as well. More like natural sunlight. Also blurples usually have 3w diodes that are super inefficient.

Thanks, I get you, they were going for 2700k and 6400k and missing everything in the middle ! Put simply !
There is so much bullshit out there regarding led. I started a thread and got confused with conflicting information. I had people tell me lm301h was singular and not binned. Samsung state bullshit on that ! I think people read b.s. And put it out as facts ! Appreciate the very simple explanation on blurple lights though !! One last question if you don't mind, I'm thinking of diy some lm301h 3500k, would I be better adding some reds ?? Entire grow the units will be for !

3500k is a great all around spectrum. You can add far reds if you are going for the Emerson effect. Look it up. Not needed though. Quality white led and your good to go.

I know about the Emerson effect, UV is also added, yes ? I am not sold on the way it's being done personally. The UV is no where near strong enough in my opinion. My opinion is my opinion though ! For the plant to up resin production it has to need to ! I will look into it more but the way I see it is if the UV won't tan us why would plants need added protection ? I think high output uv tubes is the only way to see an increase. Reptile lights are poor . I'll shut up till I know more anyway ! The studies are all over the place !

I've used a 2 foot florescent tube to provide uvb. Results were mixed and I no longer use uvb. Did purple up my strains real nice though. Mine is a california lightworks uvb.20210203_221512.jpg
