new grower

hello,my name is rizzo.im a newbie.iv been wanting to grow forever and ive had a few outdoor attempts but they either got stolen or deer ate them so now i just got my income tax money and i really want to get growing.

i have a few questions but ill post them one at a time or search the archive.anyway i have 2 crawl spaces in my attic that i think would be great.im not looking to have a big operation but just a few plants for myself.

the first room i want to use for growing and i have split it up into two sides,one for growing and one for flowering.the side i have for growing is 9sq ft(3x3) and 5 ft high i want to use metal halide bulbs for that but im not sure on wattage and how many to use,also do they come with the thing to put them in?something i can hook a chian on to regulate hight?

for flowering i have a space also 9sq ft but 7 ft high.i want to use hps bulbs but again not sure on wattage and how many.also how many plants would be a good fit?im hoping 2 or 3.

actually for get the mh and hps bulbs.im lookin to do this pretty cheap but get the best crop possible.i dident think those bulbs cost so much but ive read about clf's?can someone explain these and give me a estamite on about how many and what kind i would need,sorry i sound like a dumbass.
