new hydro grower

I have started my first hydroponic DWC grow a few days ago, but I have had two very successful grows in soil in the past. My seedlings have just sprouted out of the rockwool cubes and are looking good so far. It seems like it is going to take a while for the roots to grow out of the rockwool, through the lava rocks, out of the netpot and into the reseviour. Does the plant have enough strength for all of that root growth without any nutes, using just water soaked into the rockwool? How long does it take most people until the roots grow into the DWC? Should I add a little bit of nutes to the rockwool in a week or so if the roots have not grown out of the netpots yet or just let it be? Thanks for the help.

just let it be. they will work their way down soon enough. make sure to keep the rockwool moist,,, not soaking wet just moist untill they do. it shouldnt take 2 or 3 days before you start seeing some roots hangin down.

I like to use a syringe with 1/4 strength seedling nutes to give the cubes a little feed but the roots will come down in 2-4 days I agree.
