As some of you may have seen, I have a sig link to my second op which is an hps set up of 2 1k in two 4x4 tents. The veg is already cmh so i'm sold on that... but soon I may upgrade to new lights and sell the hps equipment for good. keep in mind cmh will still be an option. But since I already have a nice cmh set up at my main op location, I can't shake the curiosity of different lighting tech. So with that said I would like a vote to help. Thanks in advance :)

that's a toughie . I like the a51 and Inda gro. I haven't used apache. GG gets great results. It's freakin heavy though.. Have you considered DIY cobs? Goerr has been getting great results with the lec 315w CMH too.

I do have two 315 in og hoods in between my 860 cmh's flower room so i def know they perform well, I did not consider cob to be honest. I feel like it would be quite the work for two 4x4 areas? Maybe not as much as I think...never done too much diy stuff

I voted for the Apache in your poll, but my unofficial vote would be to mix it up a bit like CMH and a mix of 2700/4000k DIY cobs. This is the result of a 200w Alibaba warehouse COB spot light @3000k, mixed with another 70w of 2700k CFL's and 4000k LED bulbs. Just finished trimming it last night: 184.3g/6.6 zips from 2 small plants and a bunch of Chinese crap lights.

Now take it up a notch with some 3100k Elite Agro, add some 2700k/4000k Cree COB's... :hump:

double d papillon isn't a bad option either, but the 860w is more wattage in the
same space. an 860 in a 4x4 would be like the fargin' sun!

DIY is pretty easy. only takes a couple hours if you have a half decent tool set.

DIY with cobs!

6 UFO killers would give you 30W/sqft in a 4x4.

That's 6 drivers, 6 sinks, and (24) vero 18

Or use bars or anything to cover the canopy with about 30-40W/sqft.

if you do go with the DIY cob, there are other options besides
one driver : one COB. you can use the HLG-185H-C as a multiple
COB option with the COBs run in series.

if its an option, check out the tents lined with orca film. i switched
from mylar to orca and the difference was unbelievable.

orca > mylar IMO.

I have a self built room thats 6.5 x 12 ft so I don't use tents on my main op, but thats something to take into account for my other grow ...duly noted
None of thee above! ;-)
I am unfamiliar with them.
I recently went for a California's Light Works, SolarStorm 880.
So far, even with my short time experience, it seems very well built, plenty of sufficient light.

i appreciate your input, but with all due respect you joined yesterday and since you got the light discounted to discuss your experience about it lol, when your grow is done (which I will follow) provided you have great success then that may be a viable option :)

Hahahahha you know I love lights, but im not being the guinea pig of that "expensive" I mean affordable (cough cough) light lol! I had the procyon 300 with a thread wayyy back if you remember that while not being as well built it did the whole sun>sunset thing. It was a cool feature I will admit, so maybe on a better unit it could be worth a shot ....for someone else :bigjoint:

By the way everyone thanks for your feedback, but the decision was made ....I kind of left that out lol since it was a decision made last night . And I chose to stick with what I find to be the king of the castle.....two more 860 cmh set ups :weed:bongsmilie Most affordable option since I already have the reflectors and such. Led will have another go in the future for me.... but most likely will be in the diy cob realm. So that should be a new thread soon....two 4x4 tents two 860 watt philips = success

Hi,
Joined here yesterday, though been enjoying the fruits of my labor in the green grow, for over thirty years. ;-) Sorry if I inadvertently misrepresented myself to you. I payed full price for my SolarStorm 880. My commitment, if any, they offered to sell me a second unit at reduced price for my journals input. So win or lose, I still already shelled out of pocket, just under $2G's. My success with this equipment is not an option, but mandatory, also to help pay for the cost in the longer term. If saving money, I'm all for it, but not at the cost of my crop. The company offer, is only quite secondary, believe me. This isn't a game, where playing with months of trial and error = valuable time, not at all! We all know this is not inexpensive for me.

Be happy to email you a copy of my paid in full/cash receipt. From a local outlet, here in town.

Dr.Chas-THC
No need for all that sir lol, I believe you. Good luck with the grow! At that cost I totally agree that failure isn't an option, and hopefully not the case for your sake
