Kinda hard to tell due to the lack of focus. Does your camera have a macro setting? Will help to get a better/clearer close up. But from what I can make out it does appear to be a male.

the other one was of crappier pics

looks like a male to me....if you have growth in the internodes and you dont see two white pistols and you just see little pod like things (balls), then your screwed son....

It's too early to tell, wait a few days and post more pics
