New room any advice?

Hey everyone! I’m setting up my 2 new rooms, the measurements are 6.5’ x 9’ and 8’ tall I have 2- 1000watt HPS lights to go in there for flowering. Both lights have air cooled hoods which I will be venting out of the room. I also have a filtered intake fan that will be on a thermostat taking air from outside to cool the room. I also have a carbon filter on my exhaust fan which is also connected to a thermostat. I have a dehumidifier in the room along with a humidifier that will keep humidity regulated. I will be using soil to grow in 5 gallon fabric pots in flower.
My veg/ mother room is the same size as the flower room. I will be using a 600watt MH in there but I’m am still unsure what other lights to go with for the vegging plants. I considered floros but I would need too many. I have a 4 bulb fixture to keep young clones under before putting them into the 5 gallon pot for a week or 2 before flower. But I’m open to any suggestions on what to use. One of my friends suggested the Aglex 3000watt LED with cobs. In the Veg room I have a passive intake with a filter on it and my exhaust is hooked to a thermostat also.
Both rooms are floor to ceiling in panda plastic and I have 2 household fans mounted to the walls on opposite corners in both veg and flower for air circulation within the room.
Any suggestions or advice you may be able to give me would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Why not run two 600w mh? The rooms big enough for a 4x8 table. Two 600 would be a perfect fit for veg no?

If u are cooling the room with fresh air, how will you regulate the humidity? Seems like your dehu wont be able to keep a constant value

I tie in an exhaust fan w carbon filter and humidistat to expel humidity ESPECIALLY during lights out. Just a thought

Both fans are thermostat controlled, I also will have a dehumidifier and humidifier hooked up to a humidity stat to regulate those, my intake is smaller than my exhaust fan and they will be set at different temperatures to keep the humidity in a decent range. I’ll have to fine tune it once it’s all set up though for the first run in the room. But I’ll pick up an extra controller for my exhaust fan for humidity to incase it gets out of hand. Thanks for the advice!

Well I had a 1000 watt setup before and didn’t have anything white for reflection, no air cooled hood, and was fighting with heat in the room. Had plant under floros for veg and didn’t have near enough of them to keep the plants happy. So then I got a mite problem and that’s when I decided to actually try and do it right this time so that I can concentrate on the plants and not on a million other things!

Having control of the environment as opposed to being it’s b**** is a satisfying feeling! Now we are only the electric companies b*****!! Lol
One day Its going to be a necessity to transition to led’s. What’s nice is all those led “pioneers” out there starting to give us PROOF that some led fixtures are neck and neck w the hps. Hid’s are becoming the springboard. It would be nice in one could acquire a true hps equivalent (5x5) core footprint) for under $1000! Maybe there exists such a fixture now? Seems like the popular ones are all $1200 plus. I’d like to know I’m getting what I’m paying for for chandelier like that. I know there are plenty of claims to this. Those folks doing side by side comparisons are on my Christmas list lol! However it’s going to be a slow transition for this hid grower with more than a few to replace. I do look forward to the day though. I know exactly what I am getting from my 1000 watt energy hogs and am plenty happy with it. Going to take a leap of faith to make the switch. That faith is part of what I hope to gain from this forum. Lots and lots of experience here! Anyways glad your on your way. Oh btw what do u consider too many far as t-5’s? Keep in mind (2) 600 w mh is like (3) 8 bulb t/5 fixtures. The 24” wide ones are the way to go. Hydroplaned makes one for $140 on amazon last I checked that’s veg bulbs included. Just a thought oh and a lot less heat lol!

I agree completely! Open minded about LED’s but not wanting to go that route and be disappointed! Also too many T5 fixtures to me is that I have to make paths all over the place in my room in order to get at the plants because the fixtures and down so low and I can’t get to see everything or get to use all my floor space! To me they are fine for plants near the walls or out of the way but if I have fixtures blocking access it’s a headache for me personally!

I've used HID lamps for over twenty years and like everyone else I was resistant to making the switch to LEDs. I was using 4 1k hps in a panda walled 10x10 foot flowering space and four to six 400 watt mh over roughly 60 square feet of veg space. My electricity bill was insane. I did the math on what making the switch to LEDs would cost me and decided to finally take the leap. I did a metric shit ton of research on the new 2020 generation of LEDs and found a lot of solid info. In the end I spent $2100 on four Philizon PL-4000 boards using Samsung chips for the main flowering space. I knew that I would need some easily deployed and moved around spot and fill in light and got 3 6packs of 24 inch Barrina LED strips meant to replace type T-8 flo tubes and six 50 watt COB ufos for that purpose. For my veg space I got four MarsHydro TS-1000 boards for the main lights knowing I had all of those strips and COBs to use wherever needed. The switch cost me roughly $2800 and I've never been happier with a decision to spend that much money. With the various lighting schemes I've been using and careful observation I've dropped in the neighborhood of 65% of my power usage and seen an improvement in plant performance. If anyone wants a bunch of custom built 400 and 1000 watt magnetic ballasts and air cooled reflectors you can have them for the cost of shipping.

It’s people like you that haunt my hps dreams lol!! Very hard to ignore. So one doesn’t need to sent 1200$ on a Gavita 1700E to replace their 1k hps? What’s the footprint and wattage of your philizon boards?
