New RW-150 or 2 Hans Panels?

Well Ill keep researching and trying to decide prior to the next round of plants going into flower mode, I still have 4-6 weeks left on the current strawberry cough so I will decide in the next week.

Im leaning toward the 150 still as it seems a better light for flowering from what small knowledge I have gathered from these boards, plus the fact that it draws 35w less is a small bonus but it all counts.

As for the humidity levels that worry my space I decided to try the cheap route with a $9 damp rid pack and will monitor the progress over the next 2 days, if it stays above 60% I will splash out on a small dehumidifier but would rather not as I imagine the initial cost to purchase and the running costs will be high but am just guessing. It is raining a lot recently and when I came home today from work it was 77% in there!! not good, hoping the damp rid does something.

Thanks for the thoughts and replies so far people, much appreciated.

how is it out side the closed ? how is your ambi temps and RH ?

might just want to look in to a better ventilation ?

a dehumidifire is`t as cheap as a humidifier and do cost some to run

but I agree over 70% and it begin to get critical, maybe look in to mold resistant strains as well ?

It is really humid here at the moment, 90+% outside, as for ventilation I have 2 4 inch holes at the bottom of the cabinet for passive intake which is being pulled through a 100 cfm mixed flow exhaust with a carbon filter attached to it. There are 2 small fans inside, one blowing air through the underside of the canopy towards the top and another on the opposite side of the plant blowing air on the top side of the canopy. I don't know how to measure how well air circulates other than to look at the leaves and they are slightly
'rustled' continuously by the fans so I assume thats enough.

The exhaust fan can be turned up to 135 cdm but would prefer it on the lower setting due to the noise. I do feel so if the space is 2" x 4" x 5" that equals 40cfm so the 100cfm should be plenty(even if you assume its only 80cfm due to the filter).

Since putting the damp rid pack the RH has come down to 67% so thats 10% in 24 hours, hopefully it will come down more. I would accept anything around <60% as 'good enough'.

The plant looks very healthy thus far which is nice. This is a photo of day 28 flowering, the buds seems small but I didn't tend to it 5 days prior to flipping and it looked pretty sad but I fed it and seemed to bounce back so I flipped it cause I didn't want to outgrow the space(it did anyway lol). Maybe I'll just start a journal since its up to the interesting part and I have a space to do it.

can't see your picture ? (stupid RIU server)

but yea not much to do other then try to keep it be love 70% and pray or buy the dehumidifier, if its common you have that high RH and you plan on keep growing it might be a good investment in the long run, also as I said before, look in to some mold resistant strains

best of luck

Hate to say it but defoliation will help prevent pm in high rh conditions, also fans fans fans!=== the more the merrier

60% is still too high, put your exhaust on max......pm will RUIN your crop, no joke

Good luck

Actually high humidity is good in flower "IF" you can move the air in your tent.

^^^^^ yep. Its the consistent fluctuation of rh levels that cause pm. Keeping constant levels with air exchange will prevent pm. The higher the vertical space. The more the airflow also.

I was going to pick up a RW-150 and Jeff at Area 51 recommended that I buy two of the RW-75s.

I ordered them and I am waiting for them to ship.

I own 1 SGS_160 red white 4 SGS-160 all white and 2 cha-190s and even though many have answered I'd lean towards the two RW-75s. By the numbers that should match a single 150 with nettle canopy control and possibly better coverage. I run 3 flower units with 2 all white either 160s or 190s over each. I'm interested in adding in 1-2 RW-75s just to add in some more spectrum with a nice small light. My first grows were all done in a 2'*3' tent and if the RW-75s were available they are what I'd have done. (at the time I was still using Cfls and moving into LED bulbs) my option though is 2 RW-75s and then add in a few Cree 2700k bulbs. No need to go crazy with them but multiple spectrums and light sources have shown great results in my experience and on the grow journals I've found around RIU. Best of luck. All the lights I've seen mentioned appear to be quality lights and you won't be disappointed with any of them.

Damn, Ed. Youve got a lot of light! I just wanted to share my sadness. I no longer live in a country thats on area-51's shipping list, so I can wave goodbye to my contemplations about getting a new light. >.<

When did a51 ever carry an sgs 160 all white panel. I don't think they ever did. It was the af line. Then the first Cree, 2013 sgs 160 red / white , then the 2014 xgs 190 all white. Then the rw 150 / 75

for a VERY short time, still wish I pulled the trigger on one to veg

Yeah they carried the all white model for maybe 2-3 months. I ordered 4 right when they came out. Pre ordered actually. After that I wanted more but they only had the red white so I waited for the 190's. When I say I have 7 A51's (and about 24 Cree bulbs) that is over 3 good size flower units a large veg unit and a homemade cloner. So really it's not a whole lot for the space. I could see throwing in about 200-400 more watts across my entire room before I start to borderline overkill or useless light territory.

Btw I am super curious to see what the RW 2014 series can do. I'm thinking of up to 4 more lights by mid to late summer of this year and am hoping to see some good news about the new RW series and find out if it is the way I should start to lean or not.

I'm also interested in seeing if A51 will ever offer upgrade kits for their 2013 models. They are still performing well for me. Just thinking ahead on what I'd like to do as far as light replacement goes around 2015. By then I'd like to upgrade or replace my SGS series. I expect them to still perform well at that time, but chasing that bleeding edge is always a strong motivation.

K I noticed the picture upload failed and the site has been acting up over the past 3-4 days so I stayed off it.

I'll re try posting the pic of day 28 flower from a few days ago and try get another one tomorrow evening.

photo.jpg

Im doing a 50/50 coco perlite hempy bucket using canna A+B, just started using the canna PK when this pic was taken at half strength and just started using molasses. She usually drinks about 750ml a days(0.2 gallons for 'murica).

When I resnap some more pics I will a liter next to the buds for size comparison.

Quick question, what distant from the lights do you feel is optimal for the Hans panel?

I'm also on the fence with my next LED buy...when it comes to model that is. Jeff @ A51 is one cool MF!!! He will take the extra time to inform you without being pushy. Customer service goes a long way with me.

I'm debating on four 75s or two 150s. I like the red dominate spectrum of the 150s more than the 190 even spectrum for bloom.

K, well the website went down as you all know and I hadn't really tried for awhile thinking it had been permanently deleted or something so here are the pics I said I would post awhile ago.

Once again I apologise for quality as it only take from a phone but I always forget to grab my girlfriends camera.

I recently discovered a few fungus gnats and covered the top layer of the medium with some sand and will try the hydrogen peroxide thing should the sand not work.

I used just a regular bic lighter for size reference. This is a dinafem strawberry cough
