Really if you're running actively chilled water too much air might not be a good thing. All it does is heat up the water which winds up reducing dissolved oxygen capacity. Bubbles contrary to popular belief doesn't actually transfer that much oxygen to the water - it's the surface disturbance that does it.

I'm not really sure about a good brand of pump, they're all cheap China imports. Just stay away from the ones with really bad reviews on amazon.
I typically use a low capacity pump with an 8 in stick style stone.
