New sprout has 3 leaves. Is this good, bad or just ugly?

I would love to have a female plant like that or with 4 leafs. It just means you can have more bud sites or clone sites on a shorter plant

I currently have two one is female and the other I don't know sex yet. the other one that I don't know its sex has been putting out three leaves per node on its first 7 nodes now on the eigth node I don't know whats happening but it looks like I have 6 or 7 leaves comming out it really weird. almost like its creating two tops and I havn't done anything to the plant. I sure hope this one survives because I want to see the end result but Its almost 3 months old and its no more than three inches tall with 8 nodes. all the leaves are smallo on the whole plant. none are bigger than a 50 cent piece. The plant looks healthy it keeps putting out the nodes real close together but just isn't getting very big and its been three months since the seed went into the ground. Maybe I'll figure out how to post photos and Ill post a picture of it because it is really cool to look at. I kindof hope it turns out to be male because I would like to use its pollen to breed with other plants exspecially my other feamale triploid. It would be great if I could get a bunch of seeds that turned out to be all triploids. If anyone has experienced this same issue where the plant stays real small like what I am experiencing please let me know what ended up happening to it or if you have any ideas how I can get it to get bigger. the leaves that it is putting out are all 3 pointers usually by 8 nodes they are at 7 or more. Thanks for anyones input I appreciate it.

I have to disagree moash, as the plant goes through the seedling to veg stage the # of fingers on the leaf will increase. Take a look at your seedlings when they sprout, they start out with 2 leaves, then get more fingers as the plant continues through the veg stage, once the plant enters the flowering stage of development, then the # of fingers will decrease as the plant flowers and matures. This process reverses if you re-veg the plant, one spindly leaf will emerge from the lil'-bitty bud you left, then as the plant grows the growth returns to normal and the plant will follow its normal growth cycle/pattern etc.

Also the plant I speak of is not stressed, the plant is very healthy, emerald green, the leaves stand-up and reach for the light, so I don't think that its a stress related problem. Its DEFINATELY something genetic, I just don't know what exactly.

Again, other than the fact that the plant is significantly shorter, and has 3 fingers per leaf it looks like happy plant. Any other input?

Amquai: I'm going to do the same as you and let the strange plant go and see what happens. My plant also seems to be doing what you describe in putting out multiple stems at each node. Hope its a female too, would like to see what its going to look like when she buds!!

maybe we can turn this thread into everybody showing their different mutant plants. I will post a photo of mine when I figure out how to post photos.

I should probable do the same, more feedback that way. I think I'm going out here in a few to do just that.

I planted the warlock seed that I got from attitude in their promotion and it just sprouted. I noticed it has 3 leaves instead of the normal two. I was just wondering is this something that is good or should I not expect much from this plant or what. I have never seen this before is this a common thing? any info would be great.
Dude, I have a plant right now that one of it's cola's simply began splitting in two on its own (have pics to prove it). Have had some weird mutant's that for the first three nodes only grew 4-5 leaves per stem and it all turned out good. This marijuana growing thing shows us just how much nature does exactly what nature wants to do.

I agree, there are really no hard fast rules in nature.

It looks like one of my triploids is a male but it is also not doing to well I think it is not going to make it long enough for me to gather pollen. it has 10 or so nodes but is no more than 3 inchs tall and about 3 months old. Its crazy, I hope it doesn't die I would like to see an end result other than just death.

if that is how the male is growing, then u prob wouldnt wanna use it to breed anyway
the only thing it would be good for is breeding a small plant

I didn't think about that I was only concentrating on the triploid thing. thanks for the heads up moash.
