New to dwc

Hey quick question, I have seedlings in RR on a small layer of hydroton. I want the roots to out grow the net pods, what's the best way? Should the rapid rooter or rockwool itself be touching the layer of water/bubbles or closer to the top of the net pod. They are nice and moist but is that preventing it from searching outward.. Thanks in advance

I had good luck with top feeding until the roots made it threw the bottom and into the water. Basically, I watered and waited for it dry out a bit before watering again. What size net pot you got em in and how old are they? Pics are always helpful.

Just saw your journal entry with pics. I put my root riots in the middle of the net pot and completely cover with hydroton. At first I had mine on the very bottom of the net pot and growth was slow. I put it in the middle and literally by the afternoon I noticed a good bit of growth.

Hey thanks this is exactly the answer I was looking for. I had asked this question in my journal but no one answered. It was really stressful because its been a while and still not working, I had a feeling they shouldn't be so close to the bottom because I never had to top feed. They are growing but really close between nodes should I higher the light so the leaves could stretch? I'm using a 1000W MH set at 400W temps the water temp is high like 24c 74f

I always put a layer of like half inch to inch of hydroton on bottom and then RW. And i put water like right below pot. Plants roots find the water in a few days.
