New to growing

I'm new at growing, my first plant died sadly. I used miracle gro on it because I was stupid and didn't want to spend any money. But now I have the stuff I need. Now I have ecoscraps soil, I have 2 40w CFL lights and 2 23w CFL lights, as of right now I'm in lying using the 2 23w lights. I have not given her any nutes yet. She's on 18-6 lighting schedule. My plant is almost on week 2. How is she looking? Will she need to be transplanted soon? image.jpeg

you plan on going out doors ? or indoors ? your lighting will not give you any product at all . needs to be transplanted asap . very hard to get the plant out of a glass with out having the entire root ball fall apart .

Is that a glass cup? Or a cut plastic bottle. Any drainage? Why not filled with soil all the way? You want all the leaves above the lip. If it was mine I would transplant to a pot asap

It's a g2 bottle with drainage. I just transplanted it into a milk carton with drainage

a gatorade bottle is not an appropriate gardening pot.

gardening pots cost like 30 cents at home depot or walmart invest in some they have proper drainage as well as dark colored. youre exposing your plant to light by having a clear "pot"

your lighting is insufficient for marijuana growing. and shes too young for nutes so you have a bit for that

youre best bet is to do some reading ont he subject

Let it dry out now that you've up potted. Biggest mistake is watering too soon after transplant, you're trying to encourage the roots to grow.

Also, don't give them any nutes too early. They are very fragile when they are small.
I had a grow where i moved them into regular potting soil too early and they got slightly burned just from that nutrient rich soil.

But like bryan said i don't think you will get much product with that lighting.
You need to atleast invest some quantity of money to be able to grow something that is nice and worth the effort IMO.

A 200w grow light is pretty cheap and will produce more than your current cfl light will. Although a 200w still won't do great.

I just read up that you always water it after pic transplant it
That's right- and now that you have, don't water it again until the container is nice and light. It's really easy to overwater at this point and it's about the worst thing you can do to it.

Dude. Have a gander over in the LED section; 200W will do a very good job with a 2x3' space indeed.

Even 8 x 2' T5 = 216W will do a good job in a 2x2.

I've been trying to read up on it. Before I started I read up a little but since that plant died I started reading more and asking more. I'm not here to invest my whole life savings into this cuz it's bag seed, but it is very hard to get the right info. Some places say milk cartons will work, some say not to use black pots, some say 100w of lights will work for one plant, others say it won't work.

Simplify; treat it like a tomato start.
