new to hydro ppm is way up +rep 4 help

my ppm keeps rising why is this and its not when the water level goes down only eg my flower room ppm was 1000even ppm i added wated ph it the check tds ppm and it was 1800 why would this be also should i run a benefical bacteria product in my res

Is your res well mixed when you're taking your reading?

If your PPM is rising then it is the plants telling you that they have enough nutes and need more water,but yours is jumping from 1000 to 1800 which is quite a significant rise.How are you plants looking are they showing any signs of overfeeding if they are not your meter could be dodgy or as the last guy said your solution might need to settle mixed before taking a reading though this should only take a short time before you reading is true.I know that you are in flowering but 1000PPM (2.0 EC) is quite high in my opinion,how far are you into flowering ?

with that high of a jump Im guessing that your nutes are not mixed well,you may have nutes that are laying on the bottom of your res,are you testing directly out of the res,I was testing my nutes through the tube I have to monitor the nute level and kept getting off readings just a thought. good luck

that is impossible unless your meter is broken or needs new batteries. Also some meters go on the fritz if there are certain electrical stumuli on the area. pumps or lights. NOt mine and it is a cheap 20 dollar hm. GL.

Maybe your meter needs calibrating,I use a Truncheon which does not need any calibration but if you use one of those pen type things you will need to calibrate it with Conductivity solution.

meter is very exspensive a dosent need calibrating and no not impossible i think it could have been the algae growth i cleaned it and ppm is stabel now
