New to the Nutrients

My last two grows I have used no nutrients. I topped off the soil around the beginning of flowering, and that was it. My buds always come out great. They are coated in resin, usually pretty hard and dense, and look awesome:image.jpg
What do you think? I use FoxFarm Ocean Forest. I would like to start using nutrients. I wanna keep it very simple and organic. I need feedback and the best nutrients for my soil. Thanks!!!

I think if your getting good results from your strains just off the soil you may want to just try adding a good organic base nutrient like- roots organics buddah grow & bloom and maybe start using a beneficial bacteria supplement(voodoo juice, orca) or you could also look into using compost teas as a way to introduce beneficial bacteria.

I was looking into compost teas, actually. I think I have been getting good results. But I think I can get even better if I introduce something like what you're talking about. Are you able to see the picture of the bud?

Yeah the bud looks great. I would apply Orca and Voodoo during veg and the first two weeks of flower. just follow the recommended dosages and you'll do great.

If you want to grow 100% organic Fox Farm Ocean is a great organic growing medium as far a nutrients go I would recommend using soil amendments like Fox Farm Happy Frog Jump Start to provide N-P-K and mycorrhizal fungi/ beneficial bacteria to the soil this will provide enough nutrients to get your plants root system started... As far a liquid nutrients go I would recommend Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Grow and Bloom as a base nutrient and General Organics Cal-Mag to keep it simple to start out and after you get the hang of it you could start using more supplements like Botanicare's Sweet and Hygrozyme... remember to always check your pH of your fresh water and nutrient solution before watering and keep it around 6.5

Why would someone give advice getting voodoo juice (way over priced) and then mention compost teas? They basically do the same thing, but the ACT will be cheaper and more effective?

I said that that they both introduce beneficial bacteria. Being that he's looking for nutrients, I first suggested Voodoo juice and Orca. I thought I would mention the tea because its the most organic way to introduce beneficial's.

As far as more effective? Being that I'm indoors I try to avoid teas mainly for the smell. I personally use Voodoo juice because I can get it at a great discount, and the bacteria content is higher than any other product I'm familiar with. Orca is a great alternative though if price is a issue, almost identical strains of bacteria as voodoo juice, its just a lot lower amounts.

If you are using Fox farms happy frog or ocean forest, there is no need to buy additional bottles of fungi and bacterial additive. The soil itself or technically soil less happy frog already contains those additive you're wasting money on. As long as you don't over for fertilize and kill the beneficial bacteria and fungi, all you need to do is give a little more mollasses to the soil for feeding the beneficial fungi/bacteria. There is only so much you can add to your medium.

I swear if you simply put some form of fancy label on the bottle and make ridiculous claims, cannabis growers will eat it up at $60 for a water down bottle

A good ACT hardly smells at all, as long as you are brewing it correctly.
