Let me first start by saying THANK YOU to everyone on RIU. I have learned everything from just this site and that great search button. I am 2 weeks in my first grow and really need some help. I have hit every idea that i could think of in the search button and still no fix. What I got;

Fox Farm Ocean Organic Soil
400 watt MH in a 6 inch cooling hood
Light is 20-22" above brim of pots
120 cfm inline fan
3 other small fans
Elephant humidifier set at 80%
temps range with lights on from 82-87
when sleeping are around 65-70 F (which may be my problem)
water every 3-4 days with water that sits out for 48 hours with a fish tank bubbler going through it
Measuer with Moister meter and also lifting pots, water until a little draining comes from the tray
Chlorine Out fish chemical (1 drop per gal)
Nice PH Meter and water and soil right at 6.5-6.7
With the humidifier I am right at 40-50%
Full Mylar throughout whole closest
No Nutes at all but I have Fox Farm Big Grow to use later
I think that covers the basics.

I started germ on 1/1 and planted on 1/3 and broke soil on 1/6. I started with no humidifier and super low Humidity, like 20%. My temps where off because of no inline fan but only broke 90F for like 3 hours. I started with 4 seeds, 2 Carmel Kush and 2 Sour DIesel that I got from a good friend (who also cannot diagnose my problem :wall: ) One never sprouted the other just died 2 days ago and these are the 2 left that I am fighting for. I did just start 2 more last week that are looking very good. It just freaks me out because 4 days ago these 2 looked great and now are much more pale/yellow and the leaves are seriously drooping. I took some pics but my camara is garbage. Any idea on what I a screwing up on or missing? Did I just over stress the plants the first week with bad temps and no humidity? Should I just drop these and focus on my new ones? all comments welcome and thanks in advance

Maybe its that Chlorine Out fish chemical stuff? Or maybe you have something wrong with your water? Like the PH or PPM or w/e its called ( sry I dont grow, but I have picked up alot of info from lurking here at rolitup lol ) . It looks like overwatering kinda..

ok 1st step is step away from your nice setup.... stop thinking your doing to much already... this isn't rocket science...2nd step stop using the dechlorinator (just let your water sit out over night that is all it takes)... 3rd step stop watering so much your drowning your plants the orangeness is the same as humans turning blue when suffocating... 4th step try to use that setup you have pictured as only a flower room, if you can?

you obviously have some grand plans cooking by looking at your setup... your going to be a great grower for sure

Thanks! I think I am thinking this way to far and need to focus more on the natural part of growing rather then just the science. I have the extra closest split right in half to have one side veg and one side bloom. There is plywood on the floor and so is the divider. They are both sealed with that air conditioning foam from home depot so not light. Both are getting there own exhaust which dumps in to another bedrooms closest. WOuld it be better to try and seperate them in different rooms for each stage? THanks again and from what everyone is saying looks like too much water?

i have to be careful with you... because your a doer and not a sayer

skimming over your list and pics... i will dive in... i take it your in an apartment? and this has to stay extra stealthy? another investment is to get a professional airscrubber (yeah you can make one but don't cut corners when its your ass on the line).... that way the exhaust into other rooms wont smell danky... a side note try not to transfer the smell to other rooms you want to contain it then exhuast outside...

if you can split your grow do it now... because once you pop off your 1st successfull grow you'll want to expand beleive me...

i would use the MH for vegging purposes... if can and get a 400 watt HPS... MH will grow small buds fine and some folks say they are slightly more potent... but hps grows bigger buds... your choice... me personally cant tell the difference in potentcy only size... i grow with hps... and if you combo them that is ideal

after a full 3weeks your plants will have stopped focusing on root growth and now will want to grow grow grow... your soil is now clear of any food due to the roots... start feeding them... use the grow big 1, 1/4 tsp per gallon increasing as you go... i never do the heavy feeding just regular... FOX FARM's motto is "less is more" and flush here and there maintianing a mother plant is easy as pie.

I am trying to be as careful as possible but I am in a townhome that I own so I am really just worried about maybe my light bill and noise. Pretty decent wall insulation and the one next door that would hear anything is single and always traveling. It is just me and my girl so I do want to stay as stealthy as possible for when my parents visit but is not a huge issue. I am 100% going to go HPS in my bloom section but not sure if I am just going to go 400 watt like my MH or step up to a 600 watt. It will be the same size as veg, 25"x35" and about 5 feet in height room. I do want it not to smell but my main concern is trying to transfer as much heat as possible away from my plants. I had not idea how much heat these freaking high pressure bulb produce!!
I have a PPM meter so when I start nute I know that i need to start small around 200 ppm and my garbage tap water is already aroun 190 ppm. I have a place to go where I can get pretty much any nute any day of the week.
As far as getting a scrubber/filter, can I just get one for the bloom side because that is when they really start to smell? Should it be mounted in the room or in another room the exhaust comes out? Do they really make the big of a difference even with just 3-4 plants? Thanks!

go ahead and get the 600 watt hps... your bill should not go up that much... and when you acheive your own personal stash.. the money you save buy not buy weed should counteract the rise in the electric bill.... if your concerned about running both HID's consider running T-5 flouro's for vegging and cloning...

noise shouldn't be an issue the fans produce a white noise that should go unnoticed by your neighbor...

the smell is the mian problem... yes your veg room will smell like fresh herb... some strains don't but most do... you could get away with a well crafted homemade airscrubber... just GOOGLE it to get plans... but most definantly get a real one for your flower room... simply place it in the actual grow space to get rid of the smell

so could you possibly donate a room to this endevour? and i hope that you do not have to many visitors... its one of the few downsides to the lifestyle you have chosen to lead.

the first one has developed very pale yellow leaves and they look like they are drying out.
the second has slightly yellow leaves but one has small dark spots on it. Tried to get good pics but my camara is old and garbage. The last pics are my newest ones that are only a week old and are looking great with the second set of leaves coming in. I think the humidifier is making a diffference too

if your talking about those little round leaves turning yellow... its okay... thats 100 no wait 1000% normal... the droopyness is fine too!.... your setup is too nice for you not to get results...

i included some pics so you dont get the impression i'm talking out of my ass... 1-2 are are some of the new seedlings i have going right now i think they are 1 1/2 weeks old, they are a little yellow... which is fine... i will start feeding at 2 weeks because the soil i use has no nutes added, and babies gots to eat. the round leaves are named cyto-somthing i cant remember, but they are like yolk sacks on your plant and feed it for a time being and when they turn yellow they have served their purpose. also i always use fish emulsion at first then move on to the really good stuff after about 4-5 weeks... i do this so i can go normal strength with the better nutes right off the bat for major growth

those seedlings are a four way bubblegum x kali mist x diesel x puna butter

3 rd pic is the mother clone seedling space... 4th pic is where the magic happens 5th pic you can see the magic... still haven't reached the full capacity of the room yet!

6th clone setup

7th clones doing their thing

8th weed porn
