Hey Gang, Starting indoor grow room for 1st time. Found this system from Greentree Hydroponixs, Ebb / Flo complete. Contains: 12 buckets with inserts,2 bags Hydroton grow medium, 55 gal. reservior, level controller, built in timer and pumps and all tubing, fittings and fixtures. They recommend one (1) 1000 watt grow light not included. They want $600.00 plus shipping, for 1st timer who needed all the help he can get. For easy start up and convieniance does this system for this price sound in the ball park?? I`ve been growing outdoors for 8 seasons and the last 6 have nailed it. Now want to fill in the Nov. / April down time. I know my outdoor knowlage is strong and will carry over in some areas. But outdoor all organic in soil and indoor organic hydro are to different games that share some of the same rules. Also looked at Blue Planet Organic hydro kit for the juice to run in it. My big question is the price, does this sound fair for what it includes. My biggest expense outdoors is no-see-em netting, hell with spider mites. My spot here in Florida has grasshoppers like piranha`s, if you dont seal tent them there gone!! I mean in HOURS gone down to the dirt!! Good shit`s not cheap and cheap shit`s not good, but have to start somewhere. Please any / all info, suggestions, comments taken with open arms!! exspesially with this system!!

i would strongly reccomend you go soil.............its way more forgiving ........my friend started off with hydro and we just lost 3 of his plants to root rot...........just because he did not have the expirience to notice there was a problem b4 it was to late

Dude, I'm telling you that Hydroponics is an advanced growing technique, Why add to the problems you are going to face? Your first few grows ought to start out simple and just concentrate on getting some to grow in soil and live thru harvest. Learn the plant and the basics of growing first, THEN spread your wings when you got your legs under you? Growing in soil is SO MUCH more forgiving of error than Hydroponics is.

Takes no experience to notice "hey, my water is over 70 degrees!" h202 for a sterile res if you can't control your temps.

again, this isn't someone new to growing a plant, hydro isn't as complicated as some of you make it out.

that was just the issue that was stated above, let the dude do hydro if he wants, don't underestimate anyone's abilities unless you know they aren't capable.

I read it's his first indoor grow. And I'm not telling anyone to do anything, just informing. If it aint his first grow then no harm no foul. But you have to admit that it is way more complicated than soil, and a whole lot less forgiving. Christ how many newbies here can't even get pH in soil right away? God forbid the pH should start to drift on them in hydro.

So that's all there is to Hydroponics, Huh? Damn, (Slapping self in forehead) I could do that!!
yeah bro you just mix in water toss in some nutes put a light and your ready to go full proof any one can do it...................im not saying that hes an idiot im saying the soil is more forgiving and if you dissagree i feel that your wrong...........if you get a problem in hydro you have less time to catch it and fix it.

and what???? OP get the cap ebb monster OR the greetrees, both are good solid systems, easy as can be too, don't skimp on a ph/ppm/temp meter(think bluelab) ,I wouldn't do organic but I would spend some coin on nutrients, advanced nutrients is good shit, you only need like 4 or 5 of their products to get excellent results. don't let anyone discourage you from hydro and don't be intimidated .

This has already been discussed in thread after thread, it all comes down to you being off topic , maybe you thought your advice was helpful and all but I tend to like to see people make their own choices in what they want to do.

my point is it all comes down to the person and how bad he wants to succeed , my first grow, first grow of any-fucking-thing, I went dwc and I grew big and good. I'm not saying just anyone can but I wouldn't know why if they put forth an effort and do the research.

See ya! Good luck. I aint hating on Hydro, it's a well established method. Just down on Hydro for the beginner.

not I. it comes down to the individual, was discussed earlier in a thread, the OP which had a thick head like you changed his attitude and it was a good call.

ok your right hydro ROCKS is that what you wanna here...............JUST BECAUSE YOU HAD A GREAT EXPERIENCE DOSENT MEAN ANYTHING(sorry bout the bold diddent notice) statistically speaking hydro versus soil there are more chances to have problems in hydo point blank bottom line if you cant see that your in denial.....there are alot of pros to hydro as well better and bigger root systems dont have to water every other day once its dialed in you can probably even go on vacay for a week and they will be fine.....

no, I know hydro rocks and don't worry about the caps. most people are under the impression that soil is much easier than hydro which maybe it is, I dunno, haven't done soil. I'm saying people are totally capable of things you might think takes a great amount of skills. hydro may be more difficult and less forgiving but if done right then you can't beat it.
