newbie dumb trich question...

Hey everyone, I'm still working on my first grow. I've harvested one of my 2 plants that I have. It was an auto PE from Barneys and so far, it's turned out rather nice. But, I'm still letting my NL auto grow. I sampled some from a branch that broke off about 3 weeks ago and it was pretty decent, but all my trichs were still clear. Here I am, and the plant looks "ready", to me anyways, but I'm new at this, and I have mostly cloudy with a lot of clear trichs, but I have yet to see the first damn amber trich. Is it possible that it could be completely ready without a single amber trich to be found? I know this probably seems like a dumb question, and I figure if it smokes smooth and gets you high, it's good, but I'd like some input/verification from some of you pros if you y'all don't mind. Thanks for the help!

Oh yea, I should add, she is at day 91 from seed, a little over 10 weeks from flower. I know you have to take breeder recommendations with a grain of salt, but they indicate 7-9 weeks from flower. It's an auto Northern Lights from Nirvana. Grown under CFLs, in a soil mix of MG potting mix, generic seedling mix and perlite. Only about 10% is the MG, the rest is about 45/45. She is in a 1 1/2 gallon pot. I know everyone says you can't/shouldn't use MG and CFLs, but my other plant was in the exact same set up and I yielded 1.5 oz from her. I know if I up the soil/nutes/lights on my next grow, I'll do a lot better, but for my start out, I'm not upset with my results.

Here's some different pictures I took from my last grow. When you harvest depends on what you want.. the darker the tricomes are, the more baked you will get.

JMD what did you use to take those awesome pictures with?

I'm using a Bresser USB microscope. The quality is decent, but I'm thinking of building a better setup with a DSLR camera instead, which will allow for much greater focus depth.
But for now I'm just using this to check if my crop is ready for harvest ;) Another one for ya:
