newbie needs advice

Hey there everyone...I have just got my providers card and have 2 patients. This allows me 18 plants in my state. I would like to do a system that consists of 6 clones, 6 veg., and 6 flowering. I would love any advice to build a sweet little system that will produce approx. 1/2 lb+ per plant. I'm starting from scratch. I have a complete unfinished basement so room shouldn't be an issue. I'm hoping to start with a budget of around 3,000$. I just need equipment/recommendations as the labor/electrical work and ducting, I can do. Also, could anybody help with room layout? I have 2 eggressed windows in the basement that will open enough for adequate ventilation I think.
I have heard that someone in my neighborhood is having excellent results with just using a new type of t5 floro light. I'm very interested to hear this from someone else as they are cheaper to buy/run and have less heat output. I heard that the lums are almost as much as the hps because of how close you can put the light to the plant. Is there any truth to any of this? I don't want spindley buds, so if hps and mh lts are the best way to go, please tell me so I don't invest is something I won't be happy with.
With my 3000 budget in mind, and a frest slate to start with, where would you spend your money?

Thanks for any help

flos for veg, HPS for bloom. The 600w HPS are the most efficent. I'd look into supercropping to get the most bud from your 6 plants. Good luck.

As for systems I guess that would be of personal preference ( Ebb n flo, DWC, Bubbleponics, Aereoponics,). Here is a link to a thread by a guy named Stinkbud. He wrote an awesome thread on Aeroponics and perpetual harvests. Everything you'd need explained is in it about aeroponics.

https://www.rollitup.org/hydroponics-aeroponics/116859-harvest-pound-every-three-weeks.html

You can find all kinds of info for room layout, etc. in the Growroom Design & Setup. There is an electrician in there that has been a major help. You can probably figure out anything you need to know just by skimming his thread. Here's the link.

Hope it helps.:leaf:

I'll put my money where my mouth is...the best info I get for the best use of $3000 for a 6clone,6grow,6flower system, I'll be sure to award!! I want a 18 plant system/cycle that is bulletproof and can produce absolute chronic!!! I've researched supercropping and that looks awesome, but help me understand the stem-breaking and tie down better...Please! Thank you all for the help!!!You will not be forgotten!! Peace!!!!

They ALL can!!! Ok, here's the secret....shhh now.....how GREEN is your THUMB????:blsmoke: LOL, j/k, but true!! For what your talking about I would build Stinkbud's cloner (he says he has 100% success. I'm sure you can find other posts on here to back it up), I'd use one of those T5 florescent lights for cloning and veg. Your not going to need to cover a lot of area for 6 plants, in flower, so I'd use a 600W HPS with 2 of the Bubbleponic tubs (3 plants each). That would keep transplanting between veg. and flower easier.

Nobody on here is probably going to want to retype all that info. You need to research the site, it is full of anything you'd want to know. I'm sure you can find more than one thread/ journal on it. Hope it helped :peace:
