Newbie outdoor grow in Florida help. (Thanks in advanced )

Hey guys, just joined this forum today but been lurking for a while. While im not a complete noob at growing (read a lot of guides, and stickys) Im new to it. I just had a couple questions.

1. Im planning on planting a couple plants near a creek, probably a couple feet away, straight in the ground (no pots), is this a good idea? Would I still have to use nutes, or will the fertile ground have enough? And I dont mean plant it straight from a seed, but after a couple weeks of it growing.

2. Is it too early/late for me to start my plant? This one is just kind of a test, so I might still grow it from now. ( Im in Florida, Tampa bay area)

3. I read that the plants will survive but ill ask again anyway :P, especially since they are in the ground. As most people who live in Florida know, it rains a lot. Will my plants get through some bad rain?

4. Will I need anything more than water, the seeds, and maybe nutes?

Thats all the questions I could remember for now. Id love to hear some good tips, and thanks a lot guys!

Temp-wise you are OK having lived 80 miles south of you for quite awhile. The rain..others can chime in, but you are a month away from the drier part of the year...it's a toss up. I would think you main worries are bugs!!! Your ground is likely fertile.
Best I can do..maybe others have have already had the kind of experience needed for more info.
Good luck!

Wait! You can just grow plants whenever you want in florida? Confused. I thought this was the end of the north american outdoor season!

Bumps, my brother will be planting a ton of different vegetables next week in Sarasota. It'll still be in the mid-high 60's at night 60 days from now...he needs something short in grow time, but yeah it's late. He'd be better off waiting plus the daylight is gonna get short. I rethink my 1st post. You shouldn't try it.

Whatever you do, give yourself some distance from the creek, you did say you get alot of rain. Only take 1 good rain to over flow and kill your plants. Maybe I'm wrong, something to consider since you said a couple of feet from the creek.

It's also possible to start your grow inside for veggig then transplant for flowering, My inlaws live in Orlando and do it all the time in the off season. They have no problems from what I've seen when I visit in November, December.

Naw, I was going to suggest to stay a little farther too.In Ga., and 'Bama, creeks can rise quick, so I'm assuming Fla. is the same.
The creek right by me, came up vertically about 10 feet, and was right at a guy's door sill after it had come up over the bank and covered about 50 feet of his lawn.
It does seem late to be starting, since I am expecting the normal October rains to start here, and the fronts usually come up towards me from the south.
If you get any heavy rain before they are at least a month into flower, I don't think they'll be too happy.
Another thing to consider..... How much garbage goes down that creek? You never know if you have some idiot urstream from you dumping weed killers, car oil, pop cans, etc. and that would all soak into the soil.
I would tend to suggest "no" with all the unknowns.

First of all i really appreciate all the help guys. Ok so distance from the creek, watch the rain, and I might be to late. So lets say i planted them now anyway. What would happen? Would they just Veg for a short amount of time and then go into flowering? So I would get no harvestable buds? And what about Nutes?

And also I went outside today and the creek is way way higher then yesterday 0.0 . So I might try and find another spot. Any suggestions? how much times a week would I have to visit my plants? Because if i find a far place, I don't think I would be able to visit it a lot.

Oh ya and I forgot to mention, my seeds are just a couple bagseeds, 3 are reg, 2 are purp kush, and 1 blueberry kush (really hope this one is female).
