Newbie outdoor grower: hermie/reveg q's

Hey guys, I am planning my first outdoor grow! Im located in the northern hemisphere around 22°N latitude. So far for the first month I plan on vegging indoors with female seeds (GreenHouse/Nirvana) in peat pellets then to solo cups w/soil. I will be using 200W T4 fluoros in a regular non-dedicated grow room with a lot of light leaks (this should be ok for vegging, correct me if I am wrong). After the seedlings are in solo cups and then about ready to go outdoors, I will transplant them into their final containers and take them outside. I plan to have them outside in June/July.

My question is, do I need to worry about my plants turning hermie or for some reason re-vegging when they are outdoors? Can any seasoned outdoor vets give me some insight on my outdoor grow plan? Thanks guys.

Don't yet consider myself a seasoned outdoor vet, but I do know from experience that you shouldn't experience hermaphroditism from moving your plants outdoors. If you start flowering them indoors and then move them under full summer sun, there's a chance of that happening. But as long as you have your lights on indoors for at least 16 hours a day (better 18 or 20) you won't have any problems. GOod lUck.

hey vt, thanks for your advice. i was wondering for the vegging indoors, would 24/0 light schedule be ok?

Didnt see this til now. The answer is yes, though most feel 24/0 is somewhat of an unnecessary waste of electricity. I've had my best veg results with 20/4, which gives the plants a cooler period where they chill out and stretch out a bit. 18 is a safe minimum, though you could go as low as 16 on 8 off. It's not critical though; 24/0 works fine.
