Hey guys, I have been reading a few posts on the site, including the big one by Widow Maker (was a great one). The thing is I have never really tried to grow, and when I read the tutorials it sounds very complicated and expensive. It worries me considering I have a very busy life during the week and I don't have a lot of money. I can follow the guides for the most part, once it gets to the points where they are monitoring ph and different things I lose it. All the guides seem to be tailored to growing on a large scale.

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction when it comes to a very small single plant experiment, i figure the best way to learn is to try it. All the guides talk about the process like the weed will be unsmokable if anything goes wrong. So I guess i will post the limitations i have and see what anyone can say on the matter.

Environment

I live in a place where the winters are pretty harsh so I would really like to grow inside. The only option I have is the closet in my room, which is about 3 feet by 5 feet.

Materials

I have maybe 40 dollars to spend on everything I will need. If anyone could just give me a list of things i will need to grow a plant please post.

The Weed

Ok first off, im not looking to grow great weed, hell, im not even looking to grow good weed, I just want to grow a plant or two to get the process down before i actually try for a nicer weed. Would I be able to take a seed from one of the bags I buy from my dealer?

Any response will be helpfull, thank you in advance! :-P:leaf::-P

whats up bro
good for you to get the hang of it before you actually start doin it(i just started but it worked out anyways lol)...but as you go you will learn alot that will help you and you can make changes as needed.
ok ima give you a list of what you'll want.
im going to say you should grow with flouros everyones different but there cheap and work great.

you want a big planting pot, maybe a 5 gal with organic soil and perlite- $10
a light fixture (unless you already have one,i would say a clip on lamp)- $10
some cfl's (spiral lights, 6500k spectrum? reddish hue for vegging) id say about 3 or 4.- about $15 bucks
and whats reall good if your pressed for cash is those Y- light spliters( turns one light into two)-couple bucks each.
and some fertilizer

those prices are just estimates but it should be around 40 bucks.
if you can put up pictures i can help you with the set up if you would like.
PEACE& POT

LOL The OP was from 2006. He is probably a pro by now. I'm the new newb. Riddleme, I read the goin loco link and you stated Ceramic Metal Halides are the way to go because of the PAR and spectrums. What are the limitations? Thanks

only goes up to 400 watts, has to have a magnetic ballast (which are being phased out by law in the US)

you can see mine in the balls to the wall link
