Quick question, when moving into mid flower and adding the 1tbl of bloom khaos as a root drench, I need to then add an additional 6 tbl of herc on top of the 2tbl listed? Just trying to make sure I’m not wasting nutes or underfeeding

Correct, if its your first time using BK, Its better to work it up over a couple feeds. So if your at 1 TBS BK, start at 1/2 strength for a couple feeds. It will give you an idea of how your plants take to it. Just be ready, once you start BK be ready to stay on your feeds and feed at stronger doses. Once you hit the BK pedal, gotta stay on it to keep the plants healthy!! Its definitely more plant sensitive as a foliar compared to drenching but it is still a nutrient gas pedal. And I should of stated this first, slurries should be from 6.5 - 6.8 ph and 450 - 550 ppm in a #4 type of soil mix.

I used the foliar from veg into early flower, been building up a little extra herc in my feeds. Started at 1/3 strength last time because I mixed it across 3 gallons. I didn’t notice any burn on any of the girls so I’m going to up it to 2/3 this time and then a tea, then full strength the following time. Growing in ffof happy frog. Haven’t taken a slurry in a while because they’ve seemed healthy

Your not gonna see burn, if they are healthy and taking it with no issues, your good to go!! You will see twisting & clawing and possibly spotting if the plant is ripping through feeds and runs out of calcium, but burning only gonna come if ph gets whacky on you and they stop eating!!

Has anyone used OneShot as part of a mother plant maintenance feeding approach? Revisiting this thought and was eyeballing the NPK which doesn't really look very suitable I'm thinking? Also find it very odd there's zero K in there - but I have an abundance of old kelp meal that's been lying around so perhaps OneShot + Kelp would make a good mother mix I could top-dress as/when needed?

day 54. Running into an issue on one plant and seeing a bit of clawing. Thinking the pH is out of wack doing a slurry now. I still am having a hard time keeping up with water... maybe its an underwatering problem the issue is only on two of the buds so far, but I see a consistency starting to form throughout. Maybe not enough nutrients too20191227_113719.jpg20191227_113826.jpg20191227_113848.jpg20191227_113900.jpg
the top two pics are the 2x4 plants copper chems
the bottom two are the east coast star dawgs in my 5x5

finished my slurrys and the ph was low @ 5.8-6.1 and 200 ppm
Watered them with 700ppm @ 7.0 to try to correct

I bought myself the blue lab pulse, just waiting on it to arrive. I cant wait to be able to check ph + moisture content with a more accurate method than slurrys

@Renfro got me thinking about what a good investment it will be. I also am thinking of replacing my ph+ppm pens

Its great for moms, there is some K, they just can't label it due to restrictions in states and testing. The old bags had 1 or 2% K if I remember. But one shot with a weekly tea should maintain health just fine. When u know your gonna take cuts, just start some supplemental bottle feeds A week prior.

Its a ph thing for sure, that's low low.......best to get it above 6.5 in mid-late bloom

On the OneShot deal I was initially worried about the low N but after revisiting and refreshing memory it seems for moms you want a low N. Before trying to switch to organics, even for the mother plants, I was using that Mother Plant A/B stuff since it was only 'specialized' formulation I was aware of versus crafting my own from raw materials/salts which could be an option I suppose as well.

I'm not limiting myself to organics for the mothers but rather looking at easing the burden of their upkeep. A good 'super soil' that can feed water-only style for multiple months was my goal - keeping the same soil/mother for as long as possible.

Check out Be-1 organic pellets, they would be great for what your looking for. You could mix in soil and just plain water, and can easily be topdressed if needed. You Will need to innoculate any organic soil to kick start the nutrient cycling.

Yep thats all i use for my bonsai mothers! In 1L pots I top dress 1tsp of one shot once per month. I feed the 6 main bottles once a week and a ez tea once or twice a week just plain ph water for all other waterings. If i want to take cuts ill feed a couple times and foliar dr growth a couple times that week.

Hey IrieRoots,
I read somewhere back a few pages, that when you transplant, you just water around the outside of the root ball to encourage the roots to expand and search for water. This makes a lot of sense to me,and I think I am going to try it tomorrow when I transplant.I have been vegging for 6 weeks now,and going from 1 gallon to 7 gallon Radicle bags.I do have a few question though.
How many waterings/feeds until you go back to watering the original rootball?
Are you transplanting when the roots are wet or dry?
Do you start feeding the day you transplant,or just water?
How long should I wait until I flip to 12/12 after transplant?I want the roots to use as much of the 7 gallon container as possible, but I also don't want to waste any more time vegging than necessary.

- watering in a ring outside the rootball just concentates the most moisture out in the new media, it still wicks into the transplanted rootball so you pretty much just conKrakenwatering around the pot. Using Hygeia or yucca really helps, especially in Radicle bags.
- depending on how old the transplant is will decide how I feed post transplant. I use Dr. Root on young transplants but for a mid/late veg I will use a cultured Biologix ez tea to water in and then Gaia & fulpower & prolly some Kraken for a couple waterings, then will start late veg feeds.
- that 7 gal is gonna buy some good veg time, at least 3 - 4 weeks to colonize roots and then flip.

Thoughts on this as a medium with nftg? I was thinking the ability to feed heavier would be beneficial. I’m currently running happy frog and it works but this is half the cost and made locally
I've never used it.......just gotta give it a whirl. Take a slurry before you plant anything in it.
